Cooper returning only 5 starters vs a Ryle team that has some players claiming they will beat the Jags by 50

Is that enough bulletin board material to push Cooper to victory in this one or will Ryle's prediction come true?

These Union games are always hard fought. Ryle by 3 scores this year. Not 50.

Cooper wins by 3 points.

Look for more bulletin board material, Hellbird, as the coaches are reviving their pre-game "chat" at Barleycorn's Wednesday night. Remember the ooopsie from last time?!?

Ryle: "So how bad is New Cath this year that YOU beat them?"

Ummmm, New Cath turned out to be State champs, we were State runners up and YOU were where in November/December?

Start strong, Jags!!

Just curious as you are entitled to your opinion but what are you basing this prediction off of? I don't see either team winning by 3+ scores in this game. I see it as a low scoring game with whoever makes the fewest mistakes getting the W!!

Our big Oline, and our offense is not the old Ryle O. We are much more dynamic and explosive. It's not the three off right tackle, punt ,that people are used to. We will move the ball and have some guys who can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Give them a crack and it's six. Not an opinion, I've seen it. It's a new era at Ryle. I think Cooper is down from what I've heard and we are up. I think three score is about right. I'm sure Cooper shows up and plays hard, they always do. My hat is off to them. I just think we have to many athletes on the field this year. Our junior's and sophomore's have only lost a handful games against their age groups. I think this trend continues.

Ryle in a close one. I don't think either team is ready to break out and it pains me to pick against the Jags. I take Ryle based on them having more returning than Cooper, even though the results from those returners doesn't add much confidence.

The only thing I will predict is the Cooper team you see in this game won't be the same Cooper team you see at the end of the season.

I say this because just like last year, the coaches are still feeling out their offense etc. and trying to figure out what they have and what will work etc.

Last year for this game, Cooper really didn't have an identity yet and it showed. they soon learned that they were a passing team and not a running team like they tried to be against Ryle and even some Ryle fans last year told me that if Cooper played Ryle at the end of the year instead of at the beginning that Cooper would have beat Ryle. Cooper last years game only went to their offensive weapon 1 time in the Ryle game because they didn't have a true identity yet. They also didn't have their starting Tailback for that game either.

I think this game will be a little of the same, some feeling out and seeing how certain players play under real game conditions.

Defense will be a real telling sign of how Cooper will do also I think. I actually think the offense will be ok this year. It's the defense I want to see in real game situations. This team is so young and I want to see if they can stop England if he is lined up as TE this year. They have to get to the QB to keep hiim from getting comfortable in the pocket.

Should be a fun game as usual. Can't wait for Friday night!

You ain't seen nothing yet. By the end of the year we will have a kid with a few D1 offers, won't jinx him and call him out but if he stays healthy he will impress all who see him. I've seen talent and he has it. Just remember I told you so.

The only kid for Ryle that will go D1 is Ross.

I'm based in reality! lol.. The coaches and fans know who he is. They all see it. It's been seen since back in peewee. We all have said this kid will play on saturdays! I'm not saying we have 20 D1 kids. I know for a fact we have one. So do the colleges. He will get to showcase his talent in this new offense. Can't we route for a good kid who has actually has the talent, body and speed, or is it a no no? He's been kicking everyones butts on frosh and JV the last couple years. Now he's going to do it on varsity. Can't wait to hear the comments of the other teams parents as they leave the games! It's been a while since we have had a kid who has it. The kid has it! Just watch and see....

Because you are such a great judge of talent when it comes to DI athletes? lol...j/k, but couldn't resist.

The Ross brothers have worked very hard this off season at ASAP.

I think this will be a much better game than people are anticipating. Cooper scrimmaged Dixie and didn't play bad for only returning a few varsity starters. Ryle has the offense now that people have been praying for the past few seasons. I'm taking Cooper in a close one.
