Did KHSAA ever do anything to anyone about illegal preseason activities?

Featured Replies

Did they ever say anything or do anything about McCracken Co?

How about the camps like Pulaski went to at Georgetown?

How about Madison Southern at Trooper Island?

Can coaches and teams just get away with whatever they feel is best or does the KHSAA set a precedent on these teams?

I don't think so, but did some say the rules allowed "Team Camps" with hitting prior to Aug 1.

What did the KHSAA have to say about it when you called them?

My concern is that KHSAA will be completely silent on the issue, implicitly signaling consent by its silence, then nailing somebody to the cross next year!

My question is why are you so worried about it? What do you have against these schools? Ever since you started these threads you've been a man on a mission to get someone in trouble.

I don't know if he has anything against any of them, but if they and others are getting extra weeks of practice that other teams don't it would be an advantage for them.

The coaches rules clinic explicitly stated that those camps aren't legal and never have been.

Then how/why have teams got away with it for so long? When were they outlawed?

Is it fair that the richer schools that can afford to take teams to camp are allowed to cheat?

So is it ok for the rich to cheat?

Seems like its always been that way.

I agree and a shame the KHSAA is too chicken to act.

Teams I have heard and know that did this and no action taken is a disservice to those teams, schools, and coaches who follow the rules.

You are inferring McCracken County, Madison Southern and Pulaski County are "rich" schools?

I guess the opposite would be Trinity and St. Xavier are "non-rich" programs because they do not participate in offsite camps any longer? To my knowledge, neither Louisville school has traveled for pre-season camps in recent memory. When they did in the past, it was during the contact period set forth by the KHSAA.

If attending these camps were a violation, I am confident Mr. Tackett would address this situation.

There's the common cry about "fair" and "the rich are allowed to cheat". :banghead:

There was proof they broke the rules and he never addressed anything.

Once again schools who cheat have nothing done to them. Nothing has changed.

Trinity and St X don't need to go to camp and cheat that way.

Right, make jokes. That's helpful.

If you perceive a problem of that magnatude, then continuing to state the problem isn't helping anyone. Why not be part of the solution and contact the KHSAA about it and let your voice be heard?

Or you could just continue to complain online anonymously, and maybe somebody else will take initiative and do the dirty work.

Ironic, you accuse the KHSAA of being too chicken to act.
