7-on-7 is not to benefit passing teams. It helps running teams work an area that they may not be as used to. It's preparation for the regular upcoming season. If your main focus is winning a passing tournament, you're in it for the wrong reasons. Get better and improve your passing game for when it matters.

Scott County arguably runs as much or more than anyone, and they played 7-on-7 quite a bit this year.

From some of the comments on here I wonder if some have ever watched a 7 on 7. If you are friends with another school and you can agree to service each other then it is a great tool. Honestly you see too much trash in 7 on 7 in most cases. I mean take how the offense starts as a small example. First and 20. Anyone want to take a guess how many first and 20 an average team sees? You have lb at 8 yard depth presnap. Teams throwing 20 yard comebacks.

 

If you are a run heavy offense then most of your passing game is play action pass or quick game. I think it's great if staffs work together. If not then you get a ton of junk.

I totally agree but unfortunately when uninformed people hear 7 on 7 they automatically call it a passing exhibition utilizing the skilled players

 

It is basically 7 football players vs 7 football players, the rule doesn't discriminate on which 7 you put out there to practice the coaches do...Just sayin
