July 14, 201412 yr I've often said he would be my first choice as closer in favor of turning Chapman into a starter. Cingrani did great as a closer during fill-in times, but he just hasn't progressed, and has had a few injury issues. Of course, watching Chapman deal yesterday in the 9th was pretty darned cool, too. No way ever,ever that Chapman becomes a starter. His throws over opposing players heads and to the back stop would stop if he had to hold a bat in his hands 3-4 times a game. He's right where he needs to be. But I think Cingrani's calling is in relief also
