Some statistical questions:1)Is this the lowest winning score ever for a 63rd district championship game? 2)Is this the lowest losing score ever? 3)Are the 60 combined points the lowest ever. 4)Are the 8 points Russell scored in the second half the lowest ever for a half? 5)The two teams combined for 27 points in the second half-is that the lowest ever? 6)The two teams combined for 16 total baskets-is this the lowest ever?

Both teams were 1 for 30 from downtown! With that many bricks they could have added a third section to the Russell Gym!!!!!:eek:

There was NOTHING impressive tonight. Greenup played good D but Ashland's was better. Ashland D affected Russell more than Greenup's tonight. You say EVERY SHOT was contested and it was but almost everyone of Jonathan's shot's all year have been contested. They just weren't falling tonight. It happens to the best of them. What was so impressive about Ashland D was that they fought through screens all night to keep him from getting shots off. Don't get me wrong, Greenup D was good but impressive. Come on, Blazer. Russell D was good enough for a victory tonight but I wouldn't call it impressive. Hopefully it's out of their system and shots will start falling. Vanhoose loves the nets at Morehaed, so we'll see.

Yes when a team averages 6 points a quarter I still call it impressive!! And answer to your question I believe that Greenup Co.'s D last night was more impressive than Ashland's! Vanhoose had no driving lanes to get to the basket, and Greenup Co. took away the ability of the Russell scores to create and manufacture baskets! Again I call that IMPRESSIVE!! Do you know how hard it is to limit a team with Vanhoose, Blair, Sizemore, and Gill to 6 points a quarter! IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!

Yes when a team averages 6 points a quarter I still call it impressive!! And answer to your question I believe that Greenup Co.'s D last night was more impressive than Ashland's! Vanhoose had no driving lanes to get to the basket, and Greenup Co. took away the ability of the Russell scores to create and manufacture baskets! Again I call that IMPRESSIVE!! Do you know how hard it is to limit a team with Vanhoose, Blair, Sizemore, and Gill to 6 points a quarter! IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!

I never said the D wasn't good, but IMPRESSIVE is just too much. What was more impressive than Ashland's effort. You were all about Ashland after the game last Friday. If Greenup had played the exact same way against someone other than Russell, let's just say Raceland for example, I doubt very seriously you would use the word impressive. Good, yes. Impressive, I don't think so. The same Defense you call impressive gave up a 70% FG to Lewis County on Monday.

Your intitled to your opinion but your acting like Russell didn't have an off night. I've watched this team for 3 years now and that is the worst I've ever seen them play. EVER. They couldn't throw it in the ocean. They were making bad turnovers with lazy passing, they weren't running their offense, and they weren't making good decision with the ball. I'll give credit where credit is due, Greenup played good defense last night but I don't feel like it was the reason behind the score. I hold Russell more responsible for the score than I do Greenup's D. To say it was the best you've seen all year, I find that hard to believe. Maybe you truly believe that, I don't know but I respect your opinion. I don't agree with it but I respect it.:thumb:

This year's Teresa Wright Jarrell Century 21 Brooke Wells Enterprises 63rd District Tournament was truly a classic, and I, for one, am anxiously awaiting next seasons Teresa Wright Jarrell Century 21 Brooke Wells Enterprises 63rd District Tournament, as I think the talent level will be even greater than it was at this year's Teresa Wright Jarrell Century 21 Brooke Wells Enterprises 63rd District Tournament.

I agree completely with your point, that the sponsorship is a good thing. I'll go farther than that - I'd love to see each of the tournaments have a corporate sponsor. Anything that puts money into the athletic programs is a good thing in my book. :thumb:

 

I think it is highly commendable of Ms. Wright to sponsor the tournament, and I honestly hope that when someone is looking for help in the real estate market, they remember her name - specifically, that they recall it from her sponsorship of the tournament.

Thank you for the name recognition and the real estate ad, but my true love is for the basketball players. Yes, I would like to continue to be the sponsor so I can beat out Big Sandy Superstore to the Sponsorship. Plus I think Sam Sparks, Mr. Howard, and Dr. Compton are incredible people, so I will have a great loyalty to Russell for years to come. We just had an off night but I have cancelled a Las Vegas convention trip to watch the games next week. But, yes call for all your real estate needs.
