I was told, on the second day, they were dominating. Not competition day. I did hear Russell had a good showing at the lineman location. Didn't ever hear anything on their skilled guys. Sorry for the misleading information.

It's an open forum so it's everyones thread, sidelinedoc..... Good showing at Morehead little ram. Could've drove a truck through those holes.

Just for clarification, there were really two camps with competition going on at EKU: Down and Dirty, lineman camp with competition and EKU's 7 on 7 competition. I think there was some confusion on who was doing well in what event.

 

I know this passing stuff is new to the Russell people, but it will make since in time. (I joke, it's a joke)

It made sense to the fans, it was the OC that only new 3 plays. Practice passing plays during the week then come Friday night he forgot them and went back to what he could remember.

devilbacker, you seem to be interested in the Raceland thread for some reason. That is certainly fine bc you can post wherever you want, I know that I sometimes post on other threads. I seem to detect maybe trying to get something started due to Coach Maynard going to Russell. I don't think that you will get any "takers" though. Raceland is a proud, winning program in that the Rams were winning long before coach Maynard got there and will still be winning long after he or any coach come or goes.

As for Devil football, I have to say that from what I have heard that some of the Devils players and/or the parents are having some trouble with some of the new coaching methods being put in place. I guess that not all have learned that no politics /" little Johnny should play over lil' Billy" or "he is being to hard on my boy" are going to fly with your new coach. (and btw I am not talking about any kid named Johnny or Billy on Russell's team, just a saying). Russell fans will be pleased with the results that are achieved after some, (certainly not all) swallow their (I'm an expert) mentality. Coach Maynard is an Excellent Coach. I hope that those so c:thumb:alled experts and the school administration will allow him to coach. After all...a long time KY. High School, state championship legend was shown so much appreciation that he was fired .

Ya know, I have heard the same thing numerous times as well. People will have to learn that money isn't everything and neither is your political party. Coach Maynard doesn't care if you can make a 60 yard field goal. If you can't make a 20 yard field goal consistently, odds are, you won't be playing. He doesn't care who "Johnny's mom or dad is and doesn't care of Billy's dad is the superintendent". He will play the best person at each position in order to get things accomplished. I've been a part of his team and I know how Russell's program will look next year. It will look rough at first with growing pains but by seasons end, there will be chemistry.

:thumb::thumb: I have respect for the Russell program. Whether or not I pull for them in their games or not has nothing to do with it. I definitely respect the program and what all they have accomplished trough the years. Actually I pretty much couldn't care less as to them winning or losing any game they play with the exceptions of course rooting for Raceland should they play along with Ashland. I have some good friends at Ashland. Raceland and Ashland schools have had and continue to have a lot of connections with one another outside and away from the football programs. So I do pull for the Tomcats unless we (Rams) are playing one another.

So anyways, can't wait for 7 on 7!!!

 

I got sidetracked there for a minute. Ahhh, Back to Raceland Ram football :thumb:.That (7 on 7) always helps with getting timing down, route running, etc. and is a very good practice.

I'm not trying to start anything. If i was i wouldn't of complimented little ram on his play at Moorehead. As far the the coach being to hard, that's what they need. And i hope he does play the best players and not the ones that mommy and daddy think that they can buy playing time. There was players that should of started last year that didn't. Used the old he's a senior so he's earned it. The grade shouldn't matter.
