Well, Spring sports are over.........It's football season in Ram Land. I just cleaned my doctor's bag and wrote down my re-order list of supplies. The Ranger is full of gas, getting a new battery. Yep, it's ready to head up Old 23 to the field for all functions.........

I was listening to the 16th region baseball tournament and they said koolhits1057 wlgc will be covering Raceland this year in football along with Russell,Fairview,Greenup County, and Boyd County. That should make the Raceland fans who can't get out the games happy. Since they can only have one team on 105.7 on the radio I'd say Most of them will be on koolhits1057.com

Absolutely....here is One that really appreciates this. I know that there are plenty of die hard Ram Football fans and I honestly don't see how any could love RACELAND FOOTBALLL any more. As you know Ram, I was at every game - regardless of where for years and years (from the late 60's on). Being disabled the last 8 years, maybe longer and unable to make it out to the games anymore drives me crazy.....Here is One Long Time "Old Rambler" that has wanted this for years !

I think skill wise we are going to be just fine. Our line players have to work hard and grow up fast. As Coach Lewis informed our team last year prior to playing Ironton. We will find out how much man hair our boys have come August.

I had a long conversation with a fellow booster and close person to the program. We conversed until Mrs. Sidelinedoc was ready to go home. Man, we are so stoked to see how well our line can hold up. I am so impressed with how hard the boys have worked in the weight room. I just can't believe the amount of muscle and strength Josh Young has put on this off-season. I just can't wait to hear pads popping and kids getting into it.

I have the pleasure of helping the coaching staff this summer with the okay from Coach Salmons. I worked with the lineman this week and will continue to help coach the linemen throughout the summer. The line is shaping up. Kids are stepping up to the challenge and finally realizing that this is their chance to make some plays. Christian Sargent is back on the team after taking last season off due to some medical conditions. His sophomore year he was around 6'0", 330lbs. Taking last year off has really been a benefit to him. Sargent has grown a couple inches and has lost about 45lbs. The kid has improved his footwork and speed a lot. Could fill in the other guard position along with Wallace. Lucas Bradley is taking control of his line being the only returning starter. Greg Bowling and Caden Townsend have shown their skills so far for the tackle positions. I'm real excited to see what happens these next to weeks as they head to EKU on the 15th for down & dirty!!

Is it August yet ?? As for the working hard, that is great to hear Doc, thanks for the info. I know that plenty of talent is returning, even though we lost a great 2013 senior class the cupboard as far from bare. One of my concerns was if and how hard this team would work. They had last years seniors pushing them last season, setting the example......I Hope that we will have those type of leaders emerge for 2014 Ram Football. Should people step up, take accountability then with the team retuning it could be a very, very good season. Should they wait around, expecting someone else to take charge then who knows?

I'm looking forward to competing and having the opportunity to play at the next level. It has been a long ride through JFL, through Jr. High, and then through varsity, but it has all been worth while and a blessing. Now I hope to have a great ride through college. Enough talk about the 'next level', we have the '14 Rams to worry about!

Down and Dirty should give us an idea of where we are with regards to our line play.

59 days until "Meet The Rams", 67 days until the EKC Grid and 73 days to the opening kick-off in Grayson vs East Carter........ No, I don't think I am too obsessed with football......:wacky::taz::taz::taz:

That's great news and Doc, I have heard the same type compliments from around the Twin Cities Metropolis (Raceland/Worthington ). A good friend of mine was by the field this morning briefly

and was impressed with the work ethic of players and coaches alike. All positive.
