You know it and I know it....this is a "baited" question for me. However, I have no problem answering it.....She left today after school to play in an AAU Basketball tournament in North Carolina.

Here we go..............

Actually no bait intended at all. Been noticing the box scores lately and with a big seeding game coming up around the corner with the Lady Birds and their pitcher out and not seeing Ware in the box scores I was hoping she didn't also suffer an injury.

Now your answer does suprise me. While not an injury this still is a blow to the Lady Breds I assume . As for additional comments....... Not going to bite on this one, your answer speaks for itself and I guess proves RCC correct on the importance of this tourney??

JMO, but the overwhelming majority of your post are NewCath related, which tells me you're more "in tune" with what's going on then you're letting on.

What the?

I'm not much of a black and white guy so I evaluate each of these cases instead of saying "never miss....."

Is there something special about this tourney?

Is she going to miss the All A ?

Let me start by saying in no way what I am saying is intended to be seen as an insult at all.

This a huge reason why Shelby has never played another high school sport. Between fall tournaments and college camps she would have had to miss a lot of games/practices. Not only does it rob the team it could potentially rob another young lady from a spot on the team and playing time. In my opinion it sends the wrong message if the player that misses get to play when she is there.

Then it would be up to the coach to establish team expectations if a player misses for anything, not just another sport. If there are no repercussions then don't blame the athlete that it continues. Also, Michaela is going to college for basketball, not softball & I'm betting that NCC is willing to take her whenever they can get her.

This is a really tough call for softball coaches. On one hand, you want to set the expectations "not to miss". You must try to be firm and set the standard for your program for years to come.

On the other hand, softball in this area is not as big as other sports and coaches will take as many "athletes" as they can to stay as competitive as they can and create an enviroment of success that others want to be a part of and in turn, create the interest in softball.

Honestly, there are very few girls in NKY (compared to other areas) that have softball down as their main sport. When you have athletes of that caliber that want to play softball, but their focus is on another sport, what would you do? Allow them to come and go as they please, with disipline for missing or have a no tolerance policy and lose some of your better athletes.

In my opinion, it's a double edged sword for NKY high school softball coaches. I don't think there is a wrong or right answer. It's all about how you want to manage your program and I think as long as everyone understands, you don't have too many issues. It stinks when they miss and people get frustrated, but they also love it when they are there and MOST understand they wouldn't be as competitive without those additional athletes.

Nice Win against a team getting votes for top 25 in the state!

Here are those knocking on the Top 25 door.

Others Receiving Votes: Woodford County 90, Allen County-Scottsville 66, Notre Dame 51, Taylor County 46, North Laurel 44, Marshall County 37, Green County 36, East Jessamine 35, Grayson County 35, DuPont Manual 31, Ryle 30, Edmonson County 25, Lafayette 24, Scott 22, Paducah Tilghman 20, George Rogers Clark 19, Henry Clay 19, East Carter 18, Magoffin County 18, Boone County 17, Franklin-Simpson 16, Collins 15, Madison Southern 15, Warren East 15, Apollo 14, Paul Laurence Dunbar 14, Butler 13, Daviess County 12, Christian Academy-Louisville 11, Johnson Central 11, Lloyd Memorial 11, Eastern 9, Greenup County 7, Lawrence County 6, Hopkins County Central 3, Louisville Collegiate 3, LaRue County 1

Basketball season ended back in March as far as I'm concerned, I know/care absolutely ZERO about AAU hoops.

She will miss the All "A" State Tourney.
