no question that Elrod is an outstanding player and could start for any team in the 10th Region. However, he really can't create any offense for himself. He is a recipient of dribble drive penetration from Mains for the most part and spots up well against zones. Not a slam on him at all just shouldn't be considered "the best all around" player in the region...a really good player that everyone would like to have on their side for sure.

I didn't see a beast on the floor when Pendleton unravelled at the Fieldhouse a week ago. If Mason plays them again, Pendleton is beat. That might be the only team that could beat them in the tenth but it will happen if the matchup is set. MAN! I can't wait for the rematch.

He's hit his share of running one-handers and short pull-up jumpers. Some clutch ones too. He's a tremendous defender too.

I give a slight nod to Preston Knowles over Darius Miller as the best overall player in the 10th Region. Pat Elliott did not impress on Tuesday night against Harrison. He is bulky and gets away with using that bulk to push others around. and has a good head for the game. Mains is okay but was not much of a factor the other night either. Davis was maybe the MVP for Pendleton in the District opener. The thing about the Pendleton County players is that they have a better supporting cast than do the other players mentioned.

Hilltopper is 100% RIGHT! PC has a better supporting cast for their star then most athletes in the 10th, however, I believe Darius Miller is the best athlete in the 10th region and best overall player!

I'm not sure you can develop an opinion of a player by watching him in one game. I've seen Pat Elliott play in almost every game this year.....and the game against the Breds was certainly one of his worst.....and he still had 19 points. Yes, Pat is big, and he uses that to his advantage. However, he can also shoot and pass really well. He's great at finding open players when he gets double teamed, which is quite often. He's got great post moves, and has also been known to take a guy off the dribble now and again. There aren't many players in the 10th (or the state for that matter) who can guard him one on one. Plus, he hustles like no other. Goes after every lose ball, and his never content with his game. He's always trying to improve. He's a coaches dream.

And, yet he still had 14 points and 10 rebounds while being double teamed the entire game. Not sure Miller's stats were THAT much better???? Don't get me wrong. I believe Miller is a great player and will probably be the best in the 10th for the next 2 seasons. Right now, Pat Elliott is the best in the region, IMO.

You base all this on 1 game. :confused:

Mains was more of factor than you know. Putting points on the board is not what it is all about. He still runs the show.

I don't think Elliott needs to impress you. He has impressed a lot of Coaches this season in the 10th and out including your own Coach Kendall.

 

Elliott's average this season 16.9 pts,56.4%FG, 9.26 rebounds, free throws 76.2%, 3.4 apg. This coming from a player on a team who has 3 other players in double figure scoring. He does not get the chance to score as much as Miller or Knowles who are the primary offence for their teams.

 

I believe that Miller and Knowles are better athletes than Elliot, but not the complete player that Pat is,IMO

Your are right on one thing Davis was the MVP in that game and could very well be for the tournament. He would get my vote.

I am a big PC fan and I would probably give my vote to 2-3 guys on that team, but I was really impressed with Cunningham on the Harrison team...
