Very close game. Refs just about blew it for McCracken.

I had no dog in the fight.

McCracken up 6 with a little under 2 minutes to go. Graves shoots an air ball and the ball is given to them under their basket. The ball was not touched by anybody. Should have been McCrackens ball. So Graves takes it out and hayden hits a 3 and they call a foul underneath on McCracken. Smith was fouled for Graves, not a good FT shooter. Graves Takes him out and Hayden, the player that hit the 3 goes up to the line for the 1 and the bonus. He hits the first to cut it to 2. Graves signals for a timeout but then tries not to call it because they realize that McCracken has realized the wrong player is up there.

Timeout is granted and then refs realized they may have messed up. So after a long discussion they take the point away and send up Williams to the line. Again the WRONG shooter. The smith kid who should be shooting is sitting on the bench with a towel over his back and his lowered himself down. Everybody in the gym knows he is supposed to be shooting.. The McCracken crowd is chanting #10. Smiths #. Williams hits both FTs to make it a 1 point game. BTW Hayden and Williams are their 2 best FT shooters.

The refs for the next game and the assigning secretary for their region was a couple of rows in front of me at the media table. They all knew their fellow refs blew it. They were actually trying to get the refs attention, discretely, to let them know who should have been shooting.

McCracken then held the ball for about a minute and they fouled Chumbler who hit both FTs. Then Stonecipher got a steal and was fouled and that locked it up for them.

Crazy finish.

And my Sweet 16 picks continue to fall by the wayside.

Congrats to McCracken.

Did you pay off the officials? They tried to get Graves back in the game.

I never understood how Smith was even subbed out of the game at that point. You called it exactly right though. Puckett just shot an airball and they said Chumbler partially blocked it and gave it back to Graves. It should have been McCracken ball up by 6 with under 2 minutes to go. The ironic thing is Graves never scored again after this incident and McCracken just played on. Good win for the Mustangs.

Congrats to McCracken.

I've missed 4 regions already. Not a good prognosticator for this year's contest, lol. Other than the 1st, I've missed the 3rd, 8th, and 9th.

Tough year to make accurate predictions. I'm taking McCracken in the championship but never count out Marshall Co. in a regional basketball final. Proud of the Mustangs all around in sports this first season. Baseball and softball should be fun too. Here's hoping we have some more basketball to go.

Bad few minutes for the officials

Aren't they loaded in softball? That's what I heard. I know Reidland was always very good in softball.

What's the enrollment of the new school?
