Anybody got stats?

I don't have any certified stats. I heard Daulton Peters had 24 and that Brooks Ely had 15 for West Jessamine.

 

I think Keagan Hinkle had 14 points for Boyle and he had a huge game for Boyle.

 

Not sure about the rest.

 

Rebelstat may have some when he gets home. I'm at Applebee's picking up dinner.

Colton Elkins had 13 and 11 and affected many shots tonight.

Tyler with an off night but several Boyle kids stepped up. Robbins played a good all around game. Hinkle had a strong spurt in the second quarter. Elkins changed so many shots. Ray chipped in 12. Great team effort.

This game marked the end for both Peters and Henderson. I enjoyed watching them over the past few years. Good ball players and very classy kids. Best of luck to those two.

Henderson did a spectacular job of defending Tyler tonight. That should be noted. He suffocated him and never gave him a good look.

A lot of credit to him as he is a great defender. However, Tyler wasn't himself last night. With all due respect to Henderson, Tyler seemed content to pass the ball. He wasn't moving well without the ball, which he normally does as well as anyone. Wasn't looking to get in the lane like he usually does. And there were a lot of threes that he passed up that he would normally take.

 

Actually, that's good news for Boyle. Tyler has followed his 2 to 3 lackluster efforts this year with huge games. And Boyle will need that from him to have a chance to beat Wayne.

Excellent point. It is often the case that one team's or player's "off game" can just as much be a result of the other team's efforts. Judging which (the team or player having the "off game" or the team or player possibly causing them to have an off game) is very much in the eye of the beholder.

Very true. I think Tyler was something like 2-16 against Lincoln the first time they played. Hard to tell if that was good D or an off shooting night. Last night, he was fumbling passes, missed a few point blank shots and didn't pull the trigger on some good looks where he normally wouldn't hesitate. He simply didn't look to shoot much IMO.

Wayne held him to 11 points the last time they played. I don't think they figure he'll bring anything but his A game tomorrow night. But the team that scores the most points wins and it doesn't matter who scores them. Stearns and Blevins also scored below their usual averages in that game, so the question is - which TEAM will score more than their opponent.

 

Boyle has limited their opponents to 58.8 PPG, Wayne has limited theirs to 60.6 PPG. But Wayne has averaged 80.8 PPG to Boyle's 64.9 PPG. We'll see what transpires.

Yes, I can think of about 3 "bad" games he's had this year - and that's the three. My point was that he's responded in a big way after each of those. It'll take him having his normal game, or better, and the other players playing like they did last night, for Boyle to beat Wayne.

If a star player doesn't score much in a game either because his shots were limited or he was forced to take tough shots, then credit the defense. If the star player was missing good looks, then blame the player for a bad night.
