TripleSevens Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Final score does not show how close this game was at the end of the third. Incredible performance by Walton to even be within 7 at the end of 3 quarters. Anderson is a very, very good basketball team. McKee and Cann are not all they have. They are deep and shoot very well. 7 different players hit threes for Anderson. Anderson was able to rest players and Walton was not. Seemed to make a huge difference in the 4th as Anderson was able to finally start separating themselves for good on the scoreboard. Congratulations to Anderson County. They are no doubt the top of the 8th and certainly worthy of being ranked 3rd in the state. Congrats to Walton-Verona on a very successful season! As a Walton fan, I couldn't be any prouder of the girls and what they have accomplished this year after injuries and losing key players. Here is a great article from the game from wcpo.com... I think it sums up the game very well. I especially appreciate what Coach Kays from Anderson had to say in the article.
magicfan217 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 well played game...give credit to Walton for not folding when Anderson went up big on them in the 2nd quarter. In the end, Anderson just had too much fire power and experience. Walton might come out as the early favorite in a very balanced 8th region next year...
FarBeyondDriven Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Congrats to Coach Clink and his team on a good effort and showing. And congrats to Coach Kays and his team for advancing.
NKY Bandit Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 One thing you'll get from Clink's teams is a 'fight you to the end' attitude. Injuries really impacted this WV team early but playing some of the youngsters will only help them for next year. Doubt anybody beats Anderson in this tournament.
keepinitreal Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 They are the team to beat in the 8th. Congrats to WV for representing with CLASS!
sportsmaniac Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Congrats to Coach Clinkenbeard, staff, and players. They improved throughout the year and that is what you want to see as a parent and fan. Good luck to Anderson County.
ColonelMike Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Kudos to Coach Kays on his 300th career victory at Anderson County! CM
