Open Job: North Oldham

Featured Replies

Why the high turnover for this job? Is it lack of talent or tough environment. I would figure that North Oldham would be a good job being that it is right outside of Jefferson co.

You are so correct..

I thought Coach Stobaugh did a very good job at North Oldham. That is probably one of the toughest districts in the state. South Oldham and Oldham have both been very strong over the past few years. They had some tough breaks this year with injuries and losing close games.

Policy was to not talk playing time with parents. When a parent is on staff and then gets upset when discussion was made to “limit” their minutes and play other juniors and sophomores there was an issue. Same parent / assistant coach then went behind Stobaugh back and got him fired so that he could coach his sons in the future.

Same parent / coach has pushed away a ton of players over the past 10 years to keep competition away from his sons. His sons never come out of the game. I used to be involved there and everyone knows what he is doing in that community (except I guess the administration). I am from shelby county and people see it too. South Oldham and OC love that he is coaching as players have left and gone to their schools.

Justin Powell left to go to Trinity because of this same parent / coach.

Last season North Oldham should have had on their roster : (2) 1,000 point scorers in Jalen Henry & Zach Wheeler, Justin Powell (D1 offers) , Trey Workman (transferred to another school and is getting recruited by low D1/D2), Jeffery MCLellan (Lou Magic), Jakson Wine (Louisville football player and was a top 25 player in his class in KY basketball when a freshman ), Kamron Masterman (Louisville baseball player now who was a stud basketball

player too ), Jacob Vance (6’7 Murray state lineman now), & they had a player who started as a freshman at Waggener transfer there and “got cut” at North.

There is a reason why this program hasn’t been flourished like it should have over the last decade. Last year team could have been a top 10 team in the state or better .

I think the AD is his best friend growing up and that is why they have him.

I saw on Instagram that south beat them again. I don’t think he has ever beaten south and OC in same year but his kids get to make the team and play.

I think you meant to say that NO's record this year is 17-11, right? Not 11-17. I believe they do have a winning record this year.

That initial post is from 2014.
