February 27, 201412 yr WCPO Cincinnati has stuck their neck out on a 2-4 " snowfall forecast by Monday morning. More so if the transition from ice to snow happens more quickly. What do you think nWo? What's the european model prognosticating at this time? Or is too soon to say? I'm going with a 1/10 of ice and 3" of snow at the Greater Cincinnati Airport just to throw some numbers out there. What's your "Accumulation is Right" guess folks? The winner who guesses the closest to the actual gets 10,000 magical bgp points. What's your guess where you live…..snow, ice, rain amounts and any combination?
February 27, 201412 yr I predict I'm working from home Monday. There is a 100% chance that I will wear my PJs and slippers, not shave, and get more done than if I had to fight my way through the idiots on 275 and 471 in order to get to my office. The high and low in my house will be 72 degrees.
February 27, 201412 yr It is so cold out there right now. I had to do work outside today. The ground is frozen and wind is brutal!

I think it is way too soon to predict how much snow will fall. Knowing the track of this storm this far out is almost impossible. If things hold together as it has been showing your 1/10" of ice maybe on the low end.
February 27, 201412 yr Author So far it is going as I expect. Those in The Cincinnati/NKY area should prepare for icy conditions by Monday morning. As of now that area is looking at .25" of ice by Monday morning. It could be more. If the storm stays on this track most of the heaviest ice will stay north of the Ohio River. Parts of KY along the river may see ice but it should be lesser amounts. I'll be posting updates whenever I can. Should start getting a read on possible snow tomorrow. One thing of note, temps should be on the 50's on Saturday. Remind anyone of anything? :thumb:
February 28, 201412 yr Author ^ Last week… This year it has been in the 50's the day before a big storm hits our area.
February 28, 201412 yr Author Early Morning update: At the moment it looks like the storm is starting to take a more southerly track. More parts of Kentucky have a chance of receiving some freezing rain/ice by Monday morning. I don't like the trend of the increase chance of ice for the Cincinnati/NKY area. 40-50% chance now of a .25" of ice. The chance now is 10-20% for .50" of ice. The chance of .50" is in parts of Southern Indiana to just NW of Cincinnati. The one trend that might be a good sign is the snow chances are on the increase for those along the Ohio River. Hopefully it will continue. Will give update later today when I get a chance. Busy day today at work. End of the month inventory. Let me add that I'll probably put up a winter weather advisory thread tonight or tomorrow for Sunday-Monday. The NWS will probably start issuing them tomorrow. Everyone needs to start preparing for this system now.
February 28, 201412 yr Author I figured they would be issuing either a winter storm watch or advisory later today but they already have issued it. It will be in the new thread.
