Of the three you listed, SK will likely be the favored of the bunch. However, if someone's to contest them, it'll likely be Grant County. Walton's having a down year, compared to previous years. Braves just lost by 2 the last time they played the Pioneers, and tonight beat a Campbell County squad by 15 that beat SK last night by 3 (yeah I know it's unfair to compare scores, but I think you get my point).

If SK wins the district, it won't surprise me. But, neither will Grant County (if they can bring their "A" game).

I see SK winning the district. They lost a few good players but also return a core. Walton is having a down year in all of their sports, baseball will be a down as well. They graduated a lot. Young team, look for the next couple years to be on the up side.

I think Simon and Grant will be the two best in this district with Simon as the heavy favorite. To much talent returning. Even with the loss of Newberry who pitched well for them last year. Walton always seem to have a knack of getting out of that district even though they will be down. In the 31st, I think it will be toss up between Owen and Carroll. I know Gallatin made it out last year via upset and return a lot. Henry has a new coach, but always seem to compete in that district.

Guys...complete brain fart on my part. Saw the title of the thread, but didn't even glance at the specific forum it was in. Was focused on basketball last night when I originally posted...and now see you're talking baseball. Soooooooo....completely forget what I said in my originally post!

Man, I hate getting old. :banghead:

In the 32nd district this year should come down to Simon Kenton and Grant County. They both will return some very good players from last year's teams. Simon Kenton graduated about 7 seniors, but only 3 of them were full time players. They will have about 9 or 10 seniors on this years squad and 3 or 4 good juniors. Not all the seniors will be major contributors but 4 or 5 of them should be some of the best player's in the 8th region, Tristen Marcum, Micheal mundy, grant Wassom, tyler Smith and Sean Lawrence (junior). Pitching depth and defense will be their biggest question mark's. Grant county beat some of the better teams in Kentucky last year. They lost a few quality seniors but return key contributors from last year's team. walton-verona will be a younger group this year but does have talent. Does anyone know if the maevis brothers transferred to New Cath? (rumor i heard) williamstown graduated alot of seniors last year. They will be playing with a young team this year.

i earlier commented i thought the 8th region tourney was being held at Henry County, but have discovered it will in fact be at Anderson County. I thought i heard they were building a new field last year. Does anyone know if this is true?

I know Anderson County was suppose to host last year but were doing field renovations so they swapped out with South Oldham. On the khsaa website it is showing Henry County hosting this year, 2015 Shelby Co., 2016 Carroll Co. and 2017 Anderson Co. But things could have changed since then.
