I think people still think after the consolidation years and years ago that Mason is the same size as a Clark or Montgomery

I like this data great find mcpapa! There are 2 or 3 ways this could be broken into classes where each class class would be competitive top to bottom. Yeah every year there is potential for a school to have a banner year or on the other side a poor year. That cant be helped but on the overall it would balance itself out. If a particular school wants to add a school from a bigger class then as in football that is solely up to the school. Come tourament time there would be a more level playing field. IMHO. Like i said before i know that is a touchy subject for some but i reckon its all in who you are and what school your supporting. As for me I would rather see my kids play competitive games against smaller schools (Augusta, Robertson, St.Pat, Bishop Brossart, Paris) than total blowouts to the bigger schools. Even if it was in a losing effort. It would hopefully be a 10 point or less loss then the 36 point blowouts against the bigger schools that are more athletic, longer, and most cases more talented. I know its not about me the fan, its about the kids playing the game. But i seen the body language in the latter part of the game last night and the kids were just emotionally beat down. At laest when Augusta came in the igloo and beat Bracken it was a action packed energetic game that went to the final horn. Yeah we lost, but we had a shot at least throughout the entire game.

No stats, the internet feed was going in and out, I was lucky to get the final score.

You're not alone in wanting basketball to be classed.

 

I'm not, but it is a legitimate debate. Currently the ONLY high school sports in the Commonwealth are football, track/field and cross-country (I think).

 

Seems like we always have a "let's class basketball" thread around tournament time. Anyone is more than welcome to start one.:thumb:
