How many people in Fulton work the system and send their kids to South Fulton schools? Pretty much everyone that has the ability and resources to do so. Seems as if that system is dying a slow death.

Great question. That I don't know.

Fulton City and South Fulton are literally seperated by a road in town. That's it.

Matter of fact..the south endzone of Fulton City's field backs right up to the street. If a kid kicks it hard enough, or a QB throws it out of the back of the endzone..."He kicked that into another state!" would take on a whole new meaning. lol

Kind of like 27 going through Somerset (not even that busy to be honest). One side of the road, Fulton City, KY and it's school system...on the other, South Fulton, TN and theirs.

It is dying a slow death but the adults won't let go. Not only would they be better off athletically they would benefit academically as well as cost wise for 1 facility. Fulton (the city) has a population of 2,775 and Fulton County 7,752 according to Wiki. How in the world is Fulton City hanging on with so few to tax and for that matter how is Fulton County

Combined there were 3,237 households out of which 29.30% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.40% were married couples living together, 18.00% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.70% were non-families. 32.30% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.20% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.92.

The average income for a household in the county was $24,382, and the median income for a family was $30,788. Males had a median income of $26,401 versus $19,549 for females. The per capita income for the county was $14,309. About 20.10% of families and 23.10% of the population were below the poverty line, including 32.30% of those under age 18 and 16.00% of those age 65 or over.

Fulton County regularly leads the state in unemployment.

Keeping both running has got to be on borrowed time

I lived in Fulton I know, and that street is about 100th as busy as 27 in Somerset :lol2:

The only thing I like in Fulton are ducks, the Keg and Hubbs Steakhouse in Hickman
