People are way to high on Bullitt East... That is 2 losses in a row with each loss an excuse. They loss to Fern Creek (who then loses 2 games in a row). East schedule isn't great as they don't play the 2 best teams in the 6th region (Doss & PRP).

Agree with TheVille30 on that comment. However, I would argue that they do overachieve relative to their talent level. They do play very hard and play very good D.

 

I've also seen Collins play and, likewise, they play great D but I do not see them as a top 20 team.

Bullitt East is 1-1 against both Collins and Fern Creek. I support Collins, but calling Bullitt East overrated is a little out of line. They're a very good team that's really young. Not having Troutman is an excuse, but in the Lit, they thumped JTown (final margin was 9, but it wasn't nearly that close), and would have likely put away Fern Creek again before he got hurt. Other than those 2, they've only lost to Lincoln Co. So they aren't a top 25 team? Tell me 24 that are better.

I'm not sure what you mean. What does what a team lost last year have to do with where they should be rated this year? Isn't it about what they have now/this year? I think they are doing a good job and, as was stated, they are fairly young. They play very hard and a lot of their success is driven by intense defensive pressure. I think they are doing much better than expected. But top 20?

I agree they are playing hard... But there schedule is not what a 6th region would expect. No Doss, PRP, or any team from 6th/7th region area. They played Fern Creek twice (1st game won by 1, LIT game lost). Jtown game they were down 10 but they way Jtown (Live die by the 3) Bullitt got back in the game. The LIT rating and rating out Lexington paper is even not showing them love. Come tournament time they won't be in region finals may be not even make the region tournament.

Because how many of their kids got extensive PT last year? Don't read into it more than face value. They've done pretty well and their schedule is what it is. Can't change it, just play it. And Collins isn't chopped liver.

No one knows better than Bullitt East that they are rebuilding this year. But man I like the foundation of the building.
