Boone vs Cooper 1.23 - Still On?

Once again schools are cancelled in Boone County.

Does this mean the Boone v Cooper boys game is cancelled?

Due to poor conditions on the side roads in the county all evening activities for all Boone County Schools have been CANCELED for Thursday.

As well as they should, when you miss three (and maybe a fourth tomorrow) straight days of school! Good call!

Yet most of these kids are traveling to the Florence Mall and Newport on The Levee. :ohbrother:

Yup....You know where I live in Union and deliver in my neighborhood. You know as well as I do that there is nothing wrong with the roads out here that would be used to get the team from point A to point B.

Yes but then it's on the parents and not the school! The BOE can't get sued, if a kid gets hurt driving to the Mall but have that same kid driving to a game or to the bus to go play in a game, then the :poop::poop: hits the fan!

BCBOE does not use Bus service for the kids, its on the parents anyway! The parents have to sign a release at the beginning of each sport.

The last thing we need is an inexperienced driving high school kid freaking out when they hit one of the bad spots, and yes they are still out there with temps being so low. The risk of life, bodily harm and damaged vehicles is not worth a day in school or a simple basketball game you make up later. Good decision by BCBOE.

I drive in Florence and Union all day, unless you live off Big Bone Church, Big Bone Rd, Rabbitt Hash Rd, and other far out locales, yes those roads are an issue. However, EVERY major street in Florence and Union is clean as a whistle.

Society today has become SOOOOOO litigious it's a complete joke.

While you are correct that it is a complete joke, it is the way it is, these days!
