Lincoln County 45 Boyle County 43

Lincoln Co 45 Boyle Co 43

Lincoln students rushed the court.

Lincoln was led by Taylor with 18 and Conway with 14. Boyle led by Ray and Tyler with 12 each. Lincoln shot 35% from the field; 15% from deep; and 55% from the line. Didn't catch the Boyle FG % (it wasn't good) but believe they said 23% from deep and 66% from the line. Close game but an ugly one to be sure. Both teams can shoot much, much better across the board than they did tonight.

This was one of those great games that is not a good indicator of either team and how good they are.

For Lincoln County:

Timmy Taylor was 7/12 from the floor, 0/2 from three, 2/6 from the FT for 16 points, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 turnovers.

Jacob Conway was 4/14 from the floor, 0/3 from three, 6/8 from the FT line for 14 points.

For Boyle County:

Hagen Tyler was 2/16 from the floor, 2/10 from three, 6/6 from the line for 12 points, 9 rebounds.

Clayton Ray was 5/14 from the floor, 2/8 from three for 12 points and 4 rebounds.

Colton Elkins was 1/3 from the floor, 5/8 from the line and finished with 7 points and 10 rebounds.

First nailed the team stats for Lincoln.

Boyle was 13/42 from the floor for 31%, 5/22 from the three point line for 23%, 12/18 from the line for 67%.

Boyle out scored Lincoln 19-11 in the final quarter but it wasn't enough to overcome Lincoln in the end. Boyle missed two shots inside the paint that would have tied the game and those shots were indicative of Boyle's shooting woes all night long.

Lincoln sat in a 2-3 all night long and Boyle missed quite a few shots that they normally make. Boyle's defensive gameplan worked to a T but unfortunately their inability to score the ball cost them the game.

Last few sequences of the game as I was texting my son updates. Score was 45-42 at the time.

Hagen missed a 3. Colton rebounded and was fouled. Made the first. 45-43. 19 seconds. Missed the second. Fight for the ball bodies on the floor going at it. Walk on Lincoln. Players separated. Boyle ball. 6.3 left. CRAZY

And then this......

Missed the shot at the rim got the loose ball rebound and Hagen missed a fallaway 3. We lost.

Boyle was down 31-16 early in the third and it was 34-24 after 3. Clayton Ray hit 2 three pointers and Hagen Tyler hit another and next thing you know it was 35-33 Lincoln County and the place was rocking again.

Great atmosphere. I hate my Rebels lost.

This was an old fashion 12th region slobberknocker. I really enjoyed the game. Was pulling for my hometown Rebels but they just couldn't get the shot they needed at the end. Great comeback though.

Game was very intense with great atmosphere...just watch this:

Lincoln students rushed the court and chanted "this is our house" after the game:

Also, if anyone was offended by the "daddy's boy" chant at Brad Calipari...I'm thinking they wouldn't want to be at tonight's game :lol2:

Here is the controversial basket interference call from last night's game; I'm still not sure what I think after watching the video:

Thoughts/Concerns on Student section chants?

Thoughts/Concerns on Student section chants?

I didn't really have any problems with it. I could see how some would be offended but it wasn't just Boyle County. It was a back-and-forth and both schools were hitting pretty hard.
