You bet it is. When I coach/ed there was no one treated differently than someone else especially my own kids. Expectations were you played hard, gave maximum effort and the final results would take care of itself. You wanted to do things "your" way then you can take a seat and watch.

Sounds like coaching to me. If the kid can't take being corrected, then they shouldn't play. Did the kid get struck by the coach? Was there physical contact? Did the coach insult the kid? According to description, these actions did not take place. A coach should not be criticized because they demonstrate passion for the game. Coaches often get the blame when teams fail. What if that kid had inbounded the ball and turned it over and that started the momentum for the other team to make a miracle comeback. Do you think the kid would have received the blame or the coach?

What is the issue? Too much coddling of kids nowadays which is why our society is the way it is. They keep score for a reason and at the end of the day everyone is not supposed to get a trophy.
