Kelshawn Knight-Goff

Featured Replies

With Kelshawn Knight-Goff leaving the Trinity basketball team sometime in the last two weeks, does anyone have any idea if he'll possibly stay at Trinity and re-join the team next year or maybe go back to his original school and play there, or potentially something else?

It's my understanding that he's a sophomore whose still growing into his role and potentially has a bright future. I ask because the kid is obviously talented and I hope he acts in his best interest and utilizes his talents in a way that makes the most of him.

Trinity is his "original" school. He didn't transfer in. Him leaving was a pretty big shock to me. He's obviously getting some bad advice somewhere. He played at the same middle school as my son, and was never a problem. The coach from that same school has sent a few players to Trinity.

I hope he gets the same eduction and discipline at his new place as he would've gotten at Trinity. Exactly why is he leaving? Playing time?

Would you take back a kid who quit the team three hours before their biggest game of the year?

I wouldn't.

So he grew up playing CYO ball? Interesting.

He went to a public middle school, just like a lot of the athletes at X and Trinity, but I was just stating that he doesn't have an "original" school to go back to. Jefferson County is open enrollment, you can go to any public school.

Yes I know that.

I guess I'll be more clear next time and just say "the public school he would have went to before he was brought in" so there's no confusion.

Depends on the circumstances, and I don't know his.

If a kid has something going on in his life like the death of a family member then it's kind of different than a kid who quit so he could play a new X-Box they'd got for Christmas.

Back on the "team", currently at JV only

He played in the St. X junior varsity game and was a complete non-factor scoring only two points

Did not even dress or sit on the bench for the varsity game
