Scott 73 Holy Cross 47

Their philosophy seems to be jack up as many 3's as possible and hope for the best due to their lack of bigs. HC has some really nice players who can stroke the 3.

Congrat to Scott on the win.

As Clyde has mentioned several times, high school basketball is a guards game.

Even if you have bigs that are posting up, open, and yelling for the ball, the guards either don't know how to get the ball to the bigs or they just won't. They would rather just shoot the 3.

Bigs get the ball from rebounds only. (Exception McDonald and Chames.)

Did Crim get his double double?

Did Crim get his double double?

He did not. He finished with I think 12 points and somewhere around 8 boards. His playing time was limited due to foul trouble.

How many did Jake Ohmer have?

So much for my prediction!

Didn't think this game would be close...congrats Scott.

Sounds like HC is having locker room issues already. Little sooner than I thought but knew they were coming.

Not at all the case. There's a good but young bunch of kids in the locker room. They are frustrated by their results of course and trying to look at it objectively (but not coming across that way I know), the fact that they were playing poorly and the way the game was being called by the 10th region refs/hacks had a lot to do with the behavior I saw. They haven't played a game remotely called like that this year and it admittedly appeared to get the best of them. That'll happen at times with young and inexperienced teams.

That said, I hope Coach Schrand addresses it with his team. I never want to see kids with the name Holy Cross on their Jerseys act that way on the court.

The game was called consistently both ways.
