I was just having a conversation via PM with a poster, and speaking about the close proximity of all the NKY high schools. So for those of you that are not familiar with all the schools in Boone, Kenton, & Campbell counties and just how close they are to one another, I provide the following.

 

Note that I listed the shortest distance to each school, but not always the best way to go. Some you can get to driving a different way (a few more miles), but getting there in the same time.

 

I will use Newport Catholic (go figure :lol2:) as the starting point.

 

From Newport Catholic to all Campbell County High Schools

Newport.........1.4 miles - 5 minutes

Bellevue.........2.0 miles - 6 minutes

Highlands.......2.7 miles - 8 minutes

Dayton..........3.4 miles - 10 minutes

Silver Grove....7.0 miles - 14 minutes (10th Region)

Brossart.......11.0 miles - 15 minutes (10th Region)

Campbell Co..14.0 miles - 20 minutes (10th Region)

 

From Newport Catholic to all Kenton County High Schools

 

Covington Latin..........1.6 miles - 5 minutes

Covington Holmes.......3.0 miles - 9 minutes

Covington Catholic......3.9 miles - 10 minutes

Covington Holy Cross...4.0 miles - 10 minutes

Ludlow......................4.8 miles - 13 minutes

Beechwood................5.8 miles - 12 minutes

Dixie Heights..............7.9 miles - 13 minutes

Villa Madonna.............8.1 miles - 15 minutes

Scott........................9.3 miles - 13 minutes (10th Region)

Lloyd........................9.8 miles - 15 minutes

St. Henry..................9.8 miles - 15 minutes

Calvary Christian.......11.5 miles - 17 minutes (10th Region)

Note: CovCath, Beechwood, & Dixie 2 miles apart from each other on the same stretch of Dixie Hwy.

Heritage Academy...14.0 miles - 20 minutes

Conner..................15.2 miles - 22 minutes

Cooper..................17.7 miles - 28 minutes

Ryle......................18.0 miles - 25 minutes

Walton-Verona........22.2 miles - 27 minutes (8th Region)

It is basically the old Independent school districts in each city and the multitude of Catholic and other private schools in such a small area that makes for the unique situation.

Newport HS to Bellevue HS is .56 mile. Athletic fields/courts are about .2 miles apart. Any closer than this?

Plus it's SOOOOOO nice to be able to see a multitude of teams/games with a very short drive time. :ylsuper:

 

Add in the fact of the close proximity to Cincinnati and you could be at 20 plus high schools across the river in less than 20 minutes as well. We are definitely blessed with our location.

No question. I get on KHSAA and see what games are being played each night in the area and pick the best one.
