Who is the best shooter in the 16th region

Featured Replies

Owens is definitely more of a scorer...but he can get on a rhythm and drill many jumpers.

Alex Barker is a great creator...lots of energy...I wish I had his energy. Great range.

Sparks from Lewis County as far as plain shooting the basketball is nice as well.

Ethan and Evan Faulkner are terrific outside shooters, unlimited range, great athleticism and ability.

McCowan may have a great FG% but I'd hardly call him a "SHOOTER". Most of his points come in the paint. This thread asked you was the best shooter, not the best scorer. Scott Gill is another who has a good FG% but I wouldn't call him a shooter either. Vanhoose is the best pure shooter in the region, hands down. I watch him every game and he never ceases to amaze me. He is deadly from behind the arc. :thumb:

I think everyone understands that McCowan isn't an outside scorer. Hence, the smiley face with the tongue sticking out at the end of my post. Although the intitial question doesn't specify the length of the shots needed to be mentioned in the discussion. :flame:

EXACTLY

Another one to add would be Wilcox of Ashland. He's a great shooter when he gets in the flow of a game.

McCowan - Morgan Co. 68% from the field. :p

Making shots inside the paint all night doesn't neccesarily make you a good shooter either.

And McCowan was the first to point that out in the ADI article the other day....

For my money, I'd take Vanhoose as the best shooter, but as far as the player who will most help their team come tournament time, I'd have to vote for Owens. Seems he has to carry the load every night, so it would seem he has the most influence on whether his team wins or loses.

I'll agree and I'm sure Blake feels the same way.But that in no way diminishes what he does.I would also say that he is one of the smartest(Basketball and academics) players in the region-but that is for another thread.

I'll agree. There is no other player in the region that means as much to his team as Owens does to the Lions.

Ferguson of Elliott has a beautiful shot.

Vanhoose would be my pick for best shooter in Region, hands down...

But while we are talking about Owens, he is also a good shooter (around 48 percent), but just a notch below Vanhoose's ability to shoot the rock.

Shooterx3 tells me he's the best shooter in the region hands down...

I've seen him play - he's lying. ;)

Frances

Vanhoose - Most consistent

Owens - Almost as consistent

Barker- Great Range, should be more consistent

Thomas - His 3 ball is coming along nicely

McCown - 65% is no accident
