Tequan Claitt caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Ora Johnson on Bryan Station's first possession in overtime, and the Defenders defense held 21st-ranked Henry Clay to negative yardage in the extra period to win a 55-48 extended thriller at home.

Johnson scored a 6-yard TD with 28 seconds left in the game to tie the game. Anthony Lopez's only failed extra point attempt of the night prevented the Defenders (4-4) from going ahead in regulation.

The Blue Devils (7-2) were outgained on the night 663-494, including a 479-46 passing disadvantage.

All of those Station passing yards came from Johnson, who went 32-for-49 with six TDs and one interception. He also led the team in rushing with 116 yards and two TDs.

I thought about using this one in the Lexington contest but it didn't make the final cut because I thought Henry Clay would run away with it.

Shows how much I know.

This drives that district into a 3-way tie behind Scott County. I am not sure what the tie breaker is but if HC ends up with the 4 seed instead of the 2 it could make the playoff picture a lot different than it was before last night.

Bryan Station has some of the best talent in the Bluegrass region area. It seems coach Parks got it to really come together at a good time.

If I read the 3-way tie correct it goes a sort of SoS approach where you get a point for each win by up to 4 opponents that are not in the tie.

With the 3-way tie it looks like Henry Clay would still be in the best position to take the #2 district slot for the playoffs. Followed by Bryan Station and then Dunbar. But if Station can beat Ballard then they probably would get the #2 slot and HC would go to #3. HC is done with their schedule and is off next week. Dunbar plays Mercer and a win would help them but since their other wins were against some down teams such as Woodford, East Jessamine and Madison Central it probably does not get them out of the #4 slot.
