Anything over 10-0 is running it up because you only needed 10.

 

Is anything over 36 in football running it up? Is anything over 10 in baseball running it up? If so, don't go look at any first round district baseball scores from last year because you will see a lot worse than 15-0. 20 girls played. 13 different players scored. Again kudos to Waggener for wanting to play and not forfeit.

Most PC sport I have ever been affiliated with and this sport deserves this type of attitude adjustment every once in a while...The funny thing is this event is suppose to be so sacred (no pun inteneded) and history rich with its origins that the founders of this game probably never thought society would abuse it's game so badly.

 

Again, got no dog in the fight and I feel awful for the team on the end of the beatdown and I have no problem with the score provided it was a "is what it is" type of game. .

 

This sport needs a handful of changes to its rule book imo:thumb:

So it's the fault of the sport and out of the coaches' hands? And your post game speech to the team that lost would be "well, you chose to play a dumb sport with stupid rules, and this is what happens".

This is HS not little league so yes accept the defeat and yes you can blame the rules or you can blame the coach that hung it on you or you can blame yourselves or the guy that cut the grass.

 

We live in a world of PC so ya got to blame somebody...

 

Keeping scores in sports also sends the message that if you don't like it do something about it.

I personally do not care for the running clock in Football

No it is not. One of the games was a 1-0 forfeit loss. They also lost 14-0 to a team that was 9-12 on a not tough schedule. And 10-0 a couple of times.

 

If you are intent on playing a district playoff game.......and you only schedule and play 10 regular season games......on you only have 12 players ........then what do you want other teams to do. Stand there and kick the ball out of bounds constantly? You can decline to participate in the post season and you do not have to play a district schedule. But if you want to participate then I would think you would want to play at least a half where you can learn something.

 

Regardless of what you say, this is running up the score. Not saying whether it is right or wrong just saying it is by definition running up the score. Unless they were all own goals. Maybe they could have done what oldtime suggested, score only on headers. Maybe sac heart could have learned something, as you say, by doing that. They could have done something other than just kicking it out of bounds.

Question for those at this game...Did the two teams exchange handshakes after the game?
