Rocks win

What a game! This was a high talent, high physicality, high pace, intense game (as you'd expect with these two), but was not nearly as chippy as I had anticipated. I thought St. X clearly outplayed Trinity in the first half and had far more great scoring chances, but just couldn't put the biscuit in the basket.

I'm not sure what Trinity's coach told his team at half time, but he should save it for the State Championship run as they came out of half time Fired Up! They dominated play early second half until #7 drilled a shot from just outside the goalie box and past the X keeper. That was with about 26 minutes left to play. The game was flat for the next 10 minutes, then X started playing with a sense of urgency and put some good scoring chances together late in the game, but it wasn't enough last night.

I fully expect both teams to meet again as they march toward a State Championship, as I don't think their are much better teams in the State than these two.

Not only in the state, X has routinely been one of the top soccer teams in the country.

The fact that they played such a tough game and T won, speaks magnitudes about the T soccer team.

Great job T.

First soccer win over X since 2009 according to the paper. Good job by the Rocks.
