My worries are partly due to what is happening today but mostly worried about what this law means 1, 2, or 3 years from now. If I'm a business owner and it makes financial sense for me to have my workers go to the exchange why wouldn't I . In a perfect world the business would recoup the employee benefit in salary but there is no guarantee . I wouldn't fault the business. But then that would lead to the single payer.

I do yes. But some workers aren't as lucky. Some companies are choosing to quit offering health care because it makes financial sense for them but not necessarily the worker. Some companies are sending out letters warning workers of the possibilty in the future. Perfect example is a certain steel mill in Wilder. But mainly forcing people to buy the product that don't have it and may not want to buy it.

 

Remember when I said if an employer didn't try to keep you from quitting that it meant you weren't "essential?" Same thing if an employer chooses to not offer health insurance. Said employer risks losing their employees to companies that offer insurance IF that's a key factor for the employee.

I don't disagree and I said I wouldn't fault the business. I'm not a fan of the government pushing businesses in that direction. In my educated opinion that is exactly what this law will do. It scares me . Hopefully with my training and education it won't hit me. Time will tell. I fear it more for some family and friends who with out this law had much more secure health care .

Sure they do. The point being made is if a public sector employee is forcing a rule or law on me then I think they should feel the downside of law. If they are going to force tax payers to buy a product they may not want then why should we as taxpayers provide them with the insurance they want?

It's the way it is because voters and tax payers allow it. The government is the people and we should demand our politicians feel the worst part of any bill they pass.

It is very simple , if we all paid the same amount for the uninsured now that we would in the future then why did we need to pass multiple taxes to support the bill? Easy answer because the bill is not reveneue neutral and is going to cost every body who currently has health care more. Basic reasoning.
