Ram and Doc, I know what you mean about the radio crew, they were lets say "entertaining". One play they were calling out the name of the Raceland player and I didn't recognize it, right after that I thought that I heard someone in the background say " he's on our team". :lol2:

 

I joke around a lot on here but as I said, I am very appreciative of WLGC covering that game or any station covering a Raceland game. I used to Never miss a game no matter where it was ( I have now forgotten what the number of games/years it was but was a bunch). Due to a chronic disease I can no longer make it out to the games so I value any broadcast of Ram football, no matter how good or bad. Maybe, just maybe Raceland's admin. might be able to get a station to cover us every week.

The main reason we don't have a regular broadcast on the radio has more to do with not having enough advertising for the radio station to afford to air the games. Not enough businesses in the District to get a regular deal.

I call bull hockey. That has been the excuse for years and that's all it is, an excuse. Business from the entire area sponsor school's games. I heard John Clarke was a sponsor for the Boyd County/Raceland game, huh, I though he sponsored Fairview games. Guess what, he is a businessman who will sponsor what ever is on the radio that has people listening to it. Sure, he likes one school more then the others, but he wants advertisement, and he will get it no matter who is playing. The same goes for the other businessmen around the area.

I understand, but it's still bull crap. Most of our current sponsors are not in the Raceland School District. They sponsor to get advertisement, not because they are located in Raceland. They would sponsor radio broadcasts as well.

I realize that you have heard that because that's all that has been said for years. Has anyone even tried to get the sponsors ? If so, ask them who they have contacted. The lack of business in the area is the exact reason to go ask, don't they think that the people in this district go to the grocery store, have insurance with a local agent, where do they buy their cars ?? All are reasons to go out and ask area businesses. I know that Raceland / Worthington residents are a tight knit group but guess what ? We have to go outside our town sometimes and we just may spend money at places that will sponsor Ram Football over the ones who wouldn't. Ask them if they ever considered that.

Doc, I am not putting you down, just that a person (Raceland Schools) doesn't know if they don't try. What do they preach to our athletes, any other group, club or our students ? They tell them not to quit..... . So, what is there reason / excuse ?? :idunno: (think about it)
