Those defenses dominated everyone they played all season. They could play defense, those were just two of the best offenses in Kentucky history facing each other in the same game. As getslow mentioned earlier the T defense gave up an average of like 7 points a game prior to that and Male about 14. Those were good defenses, they just went up against amazing offenses.

I was there, for the Boyle v Rockastle game before. Because I had drive back to southside VA that day, I went on home. Should have called in sick for the next day and stayed for that one.

Take out the game against Cincinnati Elder that season where they scored 20 and the per game average drops to 5 points. Trinity only gave up 86 total points in the 14 games leading up to the state championship.
