August 2, 201313 yr Extremists from all political groups get the airtime and coverage. Nothing new. For those that think the TEA Party is an out-of-touch bomb-shelter-living organization this guy does nothing to change their opinions. The Rep didn't help the cause either by not discouraging him from using such talk. If she is a member of the TEA Party (not sure if she is) then she needs to help the party out by saying that this discourse is not what the party stands for and it's not what they're about. Roby 10: How Can We Stop the Pres. Obama's Outrageous Executive Orders? on Vimeo This is the equivalent of some who throw out the "give me my free cell phone" videos when trying to generalize what the Ds stand for.

That said, there is a canopy set up about 1/2 mile from my house in a Family Dollar parking lot giving out the phones today!!! Didn't mean to hijack just thought it was kinda funny.
August 2, 201313 yr 2 observations from the video 1) Pretty sure that guy is a BGP Member! I just can't narrow it down as to which one he is. 2) Is the blonde at the end of the video sitting on a toilet?

Was that a flush half-way through?

You seem to find few problems with our oppressive federal government and may problems with those who are fighting against the loss of personal liberty at the hands of this socialist administration. What is really hurting the Tea parties (there really is no "Tea Party") is the attack on them that is being waged by their own federal government. If the IRS had actively targeted liberal groups to help a conservative Republican candidate to win the presidency, then I believe that you would be more concerned about the targeting that was done and on whose order it was done than disparaging the targets of the administration. Why did you post this thread in Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy forum? Do not attacks on Tea party members belong in the political forum? And no, this is not the equivalent of videos that show how the Obama campaign bought votes with free taxpayer-purchased cell phones.

I am firmly against a govt that uses partisanship to attack those who disagree with them. I'm against illegal searches that the court deems legal. But you keep telling me what I'm for .... You failed to mention the IRS also "targeted" progressive/liberal groups. Why did I post it in religion? Error on my part. So you think those folks weren't voting for the President without the phone? Come on. Regardless, my point is that it's the fringe few like the people yelling about their phones and the TEA party activist calling the President a "despot" AND the politician not having the guts to stand up to such talk as bad for each group's side.
August 4, 201313 yr I am firmly against the govt that spies on us as they are today. I am firmly against a govt that uses partisanship to attack those who disagree with them. I'm against illegal searches that the court deems legal. But you keep telling me what I'm for ....I am just observing your choice of topics and your frequent citing of left wing websites such as ThinkProgress to support your opinions. Yes, when tagged with a liberal label that seems to fit, you respond by rattling off a list of libertarian positions that you support. Yet, when it comes to politicians like Ted Cruz, who actually believes in the most important libertarian positions, you dismiss him as "whacky," and Rand Paul fares little better in your "analysis." You failed to mention the IRS also "targeted" progressive/liberal groups.I failed to mention it because it is not true. I will leave it to others to distort the facts. The fact that the IRS actually reviewed and found problems with a handful of liberal groups that filed for non-profit status does not constitute "targeting." Making a hit list of words and phrases in organization names and singling them out for special "scrutiny" does constitute targeting. That was not done in the case of liberal groups. The fact that the IRS actually did its job and reviewed the applications of a few liberal groups does not, in any stretch of the imagination, mean that the Tea party groups and other conservative groups were not targeted. The IRS has admitted that the targeting of conservative groups was done. Accept the IRS confession and stop looking for excuses for the Obama administration's wrong doing. Does the fact that most people who received the handout of one or more Obamaphones would have voted for him make it right? I think not. It is like shrugging after an election and saying that widespread election fraud occurred but it is okay because the candidate would have won anyway. Wrong is wrong, even if the wrong only increased the victory margin. Even if it were true that only people on the "fringes" are upset at the fact that in the state of Ohio, a million or more free cell phones are in use thanks to the taxpayers and the Obama administration, does that mean that they are wrong to be upset?

Progressive groups were not targeted in the manner conservative groups were. 292 to 6 we already put in to this fairytale . Testimony presented to congress by leaders of the IRS and the man who audited them both said conservatives were targeted. There is zero evidence progressive groups were targeted near the level of conservative groups. What has been disproven is the lie that this was all done by a few rogue agents in Cincy.
August 4, 201313 yr Author Yet, when it comes to politicians like Ted Cruz, who actually believes in the most important libertarian positions, you dismiss him as "whacky," and Rand Paul fares little better in your "analysis." I just googled "Fox News Ted Cruz golf courses" and "drudge ted cruz golf courses." No link came up to the story about his comment. The only conservative site I found , which I cited to you to get you to FINALLY admit he said it, was the Washington Examiner. I've said previously that Rand Paul is a conundrum. He says some things that make perfect sense and then he goes off the rails a bit. I know that doesn't fit your narrative but , unfortunately for you, the posts exist here on BGP.
August 4, 201313 yr Author I'm out for a while. Off to read opinions by that liberal back Steve Forbes.

Wow, Clyde, you really want to ignore all of the substantive points that I made in my reply to your OP to wander off topic to discuss the ThinkProgress opinion that contained a broken link in another threadd? :lol2: Funny stuff. Neither Rand Paul nor Ted Cruz are conundrums. The hold many libertarian positions and put their ideas into real action. As a matter of principle, there is virtually nothing about the Obama agenda that a real libertarian can support. The fact that you find that acting on one's core values makes one a "conundrum" shows your lack of understanding of the libertarian view of the world. I am a libertarian and both Paul and Cruz make perfect sense to me. That does not mean that I will agree with every position that they take, but it does mean that I share their disdain for the Obama agenda. Maybe the constituent in the video should have described Obama as a radical liberal or socialist instead of a communist, but millions of people share his disappointment and outrage over the actions of the Obama administration. Obviously, you don't but you have as much right to your opinion as people who consider Obama a communist have to their opinions.

Clyde, you posted a link to an article containing a short quote and the link to the original document was broken. After two pages of dancing, you finally provided a second source to substantiate Cruz's quote, which still lacked the full context of the original quote. If you want to declare that a "win," then you are certainly desperate. I never denied that Cruz was accurately quoted. I quite rightly refused to respond to an unsubstantiated quote that lacked any context except the spin placed upon it by a far left wing website. You started this thread - if you don't want to defend your position and instead want to relive what you seem to believe was a glorious win, then why not just add your gloating posts to the original thread? :lol2: You don't like whacky Ted Cruz. We get it.

My own personal view can't be that one is a conundrum if you don't think he's a conundrum. Let me write that down so I remember that. He's a conundrum to many. He's not to you. Outstanding. Unlike you who likes to put people into silos I've never said I was a libertarian. I'm not sure why that's so important but I don want to congratulate you for being a REAL LIBERTARIAN. I'm sure your medal is worn proudly.
