NCC had a 7 on 7 this morning.

Stopped by Beechwood this morning and saw BW, Conner, Ryle, and Dixie.

 

Ryle struggled on both sides of the ball. Dixie dropped a LOT of balls but Drew Moore looked good. Conner looked OK on offense - a bit off on D. Beechwood was solid. Looked like preseason football.

Ryle still has a ton to accomplish but they were able to move the ball against all teams they competed against. Ryan Hill could not be covered by anyone. Barker for Conner does a great job at throwing the underneath routes. Dixie had two plays that seemed effective but otherwise seemed covered. Beechwood did not throw the ball extremely well but had many nice targets and caught the ball really well.

Ok, Ok...Let me backtrack a little here. Ryle did move the football and when open, hit receivers in the middle of field and deep. They did not look great as they struggled with getting open and finding guys once they were jammed up. But they did have some bright spots and they did not struggle all day. They found the end zone plenty of times and from what i see, should keep improving.

Thanks for clarifying! I just get amused when the obvious dads get all gushy about Jr's STELLAR play on the best team EVER!!

You obviously know players from Ryle. I have no clue who is who. I just know Ryle's passing game was the least effective of the 4 teams there today which isn't a big surprise. New QBs. New passing system. The QB I saw struggled with the intermediate pass. Good with the dump pass. I'm not sure what that play is they have where the QB just throws it up as if it's a punt. Does Ryle have a wideout who can outjump everyone?

 

Ryle's DBs really struggled. BW had a lot of long TDs in the game I watched.

 

Let's remember that it's 7 on 7. No pressure on the QB which obviously hurts the D. Coaches are running different players in and out so no clue how the "main 7" did. On O some coaches are simply working on certain routes instead of using their entire playbook so you can't make predictions with great accuracy as to how a passing game/D will go in the season.

I did see a kid from Conner who I'm told is a soph first name Isaiah. Made some plays. Still a bit green but looks like he'll get some reps as the year goes on.

 

Good to see Loney back out there after his knee injury. Really nice hands.

I heard since they're sooooo good, they might as well play against themselves!
