ATH DeAndre Farris and LB Masai Whyte, teammates at Collins and cousins, both committed to Western Kentucky University yesterday. Both are very talented football players and great young men. Congrats to both of them!

I agree, there should be quite a few more players from Collins playing at the next level. This year's senior class is very talented and have worked very hard to build the foundation for this program, as they were freshman the year Collins opened. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Collins program, this upcoming season looks to be special. It may not result in a state championship, but it will be a very exciting season in Shelbyville!

Players and fans at Collins have nothing but respect for Highlands, and hopefully we will see a rematch in Bowling Green this December and continue to see them in Bowling Green for years to come.

 

Collins has a great middle school program at Shelby West Middle School and there is plenty of talent that will continue to come from the western end of Shelby County. There may be a few years where they aren't quite as good as other years, but Collins has yet to win less than 11 games in a season. With a lot of growth and development in the western end of Shelby County (Collins district) that should only help Collins in the future.

Congrats to these great athletes and young men! Coach Lucas has a ton or returning talent and I agree, there will be many more committing to play football at the next level from this senior class. Good luck to these two outstanding kids and to the Collins Titans. #Titan5

As someone else said West Middle feeds Collins. Before the split historically a majority of the talent on Shelby Co teams came from West. There is a ton of talent. Things that need to fall into place are things like keeping kids in the program and being part of the offseason program.

Being somewhat close to the program, I do not think keeping kids in the program and active in the off-season is a current problem. Coach Lucas and his staff have the kids completely "all in". I would be shocked if this program dipped too far off what they have been able to attain in just 3 short years.
