I missed #5.

After more people take it we will let Professor Clyde go over the answers.

10 for 10

Never doubted you.

I missed #5.

Somewhat obscure rule that you never see.

9/10. I missed #2.

Had they changed it from a player touching Bourne to a coach touching Bourne you would have been right.

Unless you're a semi-regular reader of a rulebook 90% is really strong.

Hardly ever read the rule book, but I watch baseball all the time. Question # 6 is the one I remember from a Cubs/Reds game many years ago. Zimmer was all over it, but the umpires blew it. They called the Cub out after I believe Larkin had an attempt at it.

Re: batting out of order

1. Lineup is Abel, Baker, Cain, Donovan. Cain comes up behind Abel and is in the batters box when the opposing manager comes out to argue batting out of order. What happens?

2. Same lineup. Umpire determines BOO when Donovan bats out of order. There is one out when Donovan comes to the plate. What now happens?

3. Donovan bats out of order with one out and hits a 2-run homer. It is discovered properly. What happens?

1, Baker is ruled out, and Cain then takes his AB in the correct spot.

2. Nothing. Opposing manager has to bring it to the attention of the umpire.

3. I'm thinking same as 1.

Let me re-phrase #2. The opposing coach comes to the umpire after Donovan bats and says "hey, blue, they batted out of order."

#3 Tell me who bats , runs scored, and are any runners on the bases.

I'm still a little confused to what you're asking. Is Donovan hitting out of order in front of Cain, or are you saying Baker was skipped all together, and the opposing manager didn't protest until Donovan came to the plate?

Donovan batted. Let's say he walked. Cain should have batted. Before the first pitch to the next batter the opposing coach makes the umpire aware of the BOO.

I would think Donovan is called out, but he then goes to AB again as he would then be batting in the correct order.

Technically, Cain is called out and, yes, Donovan takes his proper spot.

#1 is incorrect. (#2 was a hint to #1)

#3: What do we have?
