Southwestern High vs. Hopkinsville

Good to see Justin Edwards is playing well after a subpar junior season.

I think you do, he started C for them last year. Stockier kid around 6'4 i'd say will be a Junior.

Stretch to say that he's a D1 prospect i'd think

Okay. Yeah, then I watched him play against Lafayette and Jackson Davis last season.

Can someone tell me about Dylan Gaskin? Never heard of him.
Gaskin was the big kid that played for Bobby on young life. He doesn't have exceptional talent but he plays hard and knows his role. Nice player. Don't know about being a D1 talent tho

The Collier kid has transferred to Jackson City. He was with them at Georgetown camp.
I hadn't heard that Collier transfered. If he did then how is he playing with Jackson city?? And who is Jackson city? ?? Wouldn't he have to sit out a year if he transfered

As long as there is a valid move, he's eligible without sitting out.I'm not sure about where Jackson City is but I'm thinking mountain school

Collier transferred to Jackson County & his dad is helping coach there at Jackson County. There is a connection between Collier and Jackson County coach Greg parrett when he was at North Laurel. I beleive that Collier lives iin London and drove to Southwestern the 1st two years of high school now he is at Jackson County. I might be wrong that he lives in London but am 99.9% sure he does but he enrolled at Southwestern before ever attending high school anywhere so he was able to play and not live there.

Does anybody know why he transferred?? Southwestern will be the favorite to win the 12th region next year. They will be loaded. Seems a little odd he would leave.

He has been rumored to be going to Trinity, Perry County Central, Knott County Central and Jackson County. He went to Jackson cause his dad is helping Coach Parrett and there is a previous relationship with Coach Parrett.

So pretty much he was looking for the best deal and chose Jackson because they gave his dad a job. Why else would he choose Jackson Co over those other schools. I still don't understand why he would leave SW. Did something happen at SW that nobody is talking about

If he goes to Jackson County with his father it is a legitimate move and he can play immediately. If he goes somewhere else he likely has to sit out a year like Darryl Hicks had to do. If he wasn't living in Somerset and his father is no longer working there then it really doesn't make sense to stay at Southwestern IMO.

IF the previous post stating that he was living in Laurel County (specifically implying North Laurel's district) was accurate, then Jackson County was probably one of the most proximal locations. Many from around the state might not realize it because Jackson County and the Laurel County schools were in different regions, but Jackson County shares a border with North Laurel's district.

Geographically, Jackson is one of the more isolated schools of the 13th, as they (previously) border(ed) some of the 12th region schools (North Laurel, South Laurel, Rockcastle County) and also border some of the lower schools in the 11th (Madison Southern, Berea, etc.).
