This past weekend the KHA U13 boys team won the Kentucky State Cup in Bowling Green. The team is coached by Kevin McCloskey. They are headed to DesMoines, Iowa for Regionals.

KSA U14 girls - Gessner won the Presidents Cup over the weekend. Winning State Cup is like winning the D1 championship, Presidents Cup is the D2 tournament.

 

These girls will be continuing to regional play in Overland Park, Kansas - June 13th-16th.

 

The team is mostly comprised of girls that will attend Highlands and Newport Central Catholic. The girls are coached and trained by Tim Gessner.

These boys will likely be spread out to a few different NKY high schools, including Ryle, Simon Kenton, Cov Cath, St Henry, and Campbell County.

First pool play game versus the Illinois State Cup Champs.

I suppose that is a question for her and her family but I believe she is going to be a panda; however, Patrick, her brother went to SK, I think.

 

Hannah Poe is another NKY kid on this team. I think will be a Ryle Raider.

 

Team is 1-0-1 so far in pool play. They need a win tomorrow to make the regional semifinals.

Yes, Christin Sherrard is going to NDA. Her older brother Patrick went to Scott his freshman year then transferred to SK. Some of thier cousins went to Scott. One went to Dixie.

KHA U13 boys had a great season and a great run, but went 0-3 at regionals. Overall it was a great experience for the group. Really like Coach Kevin McCloskey. In one season he made them into a winning State Cup Champ team. I like where he is headed with these boys.
