Oh, so Coach Brooks applied for the job?

You knew that

You knew that

No I did not, and I do not think that information is true. But if he truly did apply and they did not hire him, then that proves my point even further. They wanted to hire a young no-name that they could control.

Yeah, I know. I was agreeing with you.

I know, hard to tell sometimes.;)

Just because a kid is a 7th grader shouldn't mean anything. If he has more talent than an upper classmen then let him on the team? Sports are about competitiveness, not being on a team because your mom and dad sell hot dogs for the team. High school sports are too political anymore. Glad to hear there is a coach still running a program the way it should be. No disrespect to any coach out there that does give in to the peer pressure and politics, but maybe take note...

I'm sorry...I didn't know it was the Montgomery County Middle School Indians.....last time I checked it was the Montgomery County HIGH School Indians.........

STUDENTS in HS should not be cut from a HIGH SCHOOL team to keep kids NOT in High School............try to justify it any way you want, I will never agree.

If the HS student is comparable in talent to the 7th grader, that says a lot about the talent of the HS student. Look at a team like Harrison County. They have started middle school athletes and won state championships. This isn't rec league, because the kid is older doesn't mean he deserves to be on the team. What is the point of a tryout if you are not going to take the best players??? This is the coach's team and his decision to make. Sound like MC has a good coach and the people there just need to let him do his job, but it seems the Montgomery County way is to run off a coach if you don't like the way they coach...and for the concession stand, there will always be other people that will volunteer to run it.

Don't have an issue with who plays and who starts, talent decides this.......but the minute you cut 1 High School Student from your team, you should not be able to keep a NON Student of that HIGH SCHOOL !!!

You hit the nail on the head, my friend.

Parents don't get kids playing time! The players have to do it themselves. If the 7th grader is better, put him on the team. Harrison County won a State Tournament with a 12 year old at 3rd base.

Wow..Montgomery has had a great year! Qualified for the region and won the district. How about a little praise for the program!?!?!?

Congrats Indians! I was hoping to see you get further but proud of you anyway.
