The make or break for me is going to be price versus value. I'm excited about multimedia features and that may be what puts me over the top to get it, but I want to see them in action more and want to see the price. I've moved beyond using this just for gaming, which I do less and less of.

Price is rumored to be either $399 or $499.

I'm okay with either but I'm a little more hesitant with the $499 price. This console is offering so much more besides gaming it's ridiculous.

I do think that Sony showed that you cannot successfully sell a gaming console for $499 or more though.

I'm really excited about not having to get up and switch out discs when I want to play a different game. The cloud feature is going to allow Microsoft the ability to evolve the Xbox over time. Gives it so many more options.

Either of those prices are DOA for me. Just not worth it. The XBox 360 launched at $299. That I could do.

Xbox 360 launched at $399.

The crappy core version launched at $299.

Anything under 500 I am honestly fine with. I don't want to see it over that though. The controller looks more like the original xbox controller only fatter.

This point though. Could be killer

Gotcha. I'd looked it up, but hadn't seen the distinction.

Doesn't matter, I didn't buy that one at launch either. Maybe I bought it at $350. It's been long enough I can't recall.

All I know is that when you tell your wife you don't want to spend $600 on a vacation this year, it's probably not in your best interest to spend $400-$500 on a video game system.

Neither Xbox or PS4 is offering backwards compatibility.

I really don't see a big problem with it though. If a ton of people have games they still want to play on their 360 they'll probably be keeping their system anyway.
