Gonna get paid in the off season.

 

Hopefully by the Pacers....They're going to be a force to be reckoned with the next 3-4 seasons if they can resign him....Hill, George, Hibbert, and West are all under contract for the next 3-4 seasons I believe.

 

I think they take the next step this year and dethrone the Heat.

Lance is playing very well right now, for sure, but are you advocating trading Danny Grainger in order to get Lance more minutes? Wow. That is aggressive....

 

Granger could net something of substance in a trade. He has no place on this Pacers team IMO. Lance is the better fit.

I'm thrilled to see Lance and Jordan Crawford both playing so well. Both have starts and stops to their careers so far, but with Lance's triple double, the two of them have combined for 3 in their careers (Jordan has 2). Those that follow the Crosstown Shootout every year can remember the one game where the two of them participated, a double OT game at Xavier (Xavier won by 4), that was certainly a precursor of things to come for both players. Lance had 22 and 6 that night. Jordan had 16 and 6.

 

This year for both players:

* Lance averaging 14 points / 6 assists / 6 boards

* Jordan averaging 11 points / 4 assists / 3 boards

 

Career averages for both:

* Lance 7 / 2 / 3 (22 minutes per game)

* Jordan 13 / 3 / 3 (25 minutes per game)

The question with Granger is his health. The 3-4-5 is set with George, West, and Roy, so it comes down to need. I LOVE Lance and his game, but having a 2 that can't make jumpers consistently is a limitation. If you have a 6'9" Granger healthy who can make shots, that is a pretty good fit. Ideally, in my opinion, Indiana is at their best with Lance coming off the bench as the 6th man to play either wing position. The Pacers have to have a shooter on both wings with the amount of doubles that West and Roy demand on the block. Again, to be clear though, I'm a big Lance fan, just like him better off the bench bringing energy and versatility.

Simple. Granger is a 2/3 that needs to dominate the ball and get his fill of shots. They don't need that now that they have a legit superstar in George and a top 5 big in Hibbert. They need a guy like Lance who is a shut down defender, can knock down the triple when asked and isn't going to demand 15+ shots a night. He's the perfect fit.

For the umpteenth time, I'm a big fan of his. I'm not down on the guy at all, just not convinced this start from the perimeter is a permanent change. If it is, the Pacers are really tough to beat.

The difference so far is he is taking good shots from deep. He has always been prone to firing up contested jumpers, and if that part is truly out of his game he is really tough to stop...

For one Lance is a better perimeter defender. Which is a big key playing the Heat and Nets.

I would say the backup PG spot is the biggest weakness the Pacers have. If they could move Granger to someone like the Wolves for Barea and Derrick Williams (who Minnesota is begging people to take), I think it could make a lot of sense for both teams.

I'm surprised he made this much progress in such a short period of time. Didn't expect him to be a major contributor on a team that is in the conference Finals so fast.

 

To be fair, he's playing with some real talent in Hibbert, Granger, George, Hill, West and company. Put him on Boston's team this year and his development is stunted.

Not to say he's never did anything wrong, but he's always struck me as a

guy who gets a bad rap...

 

*Allegedly* pushing your girlfriend down the steps and slamming her head on the bottom one after she's landed at 5 am, then being booked for third-degree assault charges, harassment, and menacing will do that your reputation.

To give you an idea of the seriousness of a third-degree assault charge, it's a felony with a minimum of seven years in prison if convicted.

 

Then there's the whole sexual assault case in high school.

 

All of this happens in about a four year span. Easy to see why people think he's a POS.

That's what has impressed me the most about him this season, the way he's been able to effect the game in other areas. He has really been doing everything on that team this year and that makes them a hard team to beat.
