Which Beechwood vs. Holy Cross game was the district game? Beechwood beat HC 4-3 the first game they played and then 9-4 the second game. If run differential or runs allowed are part of the tiebreaker, big difference between those two scores. It might be a factor in how this game plays out also if Holy Cross needs more runs to get the top seed.

 

Never mind. I just pulled up the seeding plan for this district. There is no tiebreaker formula. Seeding will be done by a blind draw if there is a 3 way tie.

36th takes run diff into account but in order to prevent a team from running up the score they cap the run differential at about 5 or so.

I'd be careful assuming that's still the plan. Years ago I referenced a plan on file that was no longer valid.

Although the document is dated 2008, it was loaded onto the KHSAA's 2013 District tournament link as the district's individual seeding plan on 5/7/2013.

Any final score on this game yet?

HC wins by a final score of 11-4. This creates a three-way tie in the 35th between Beechwood, Holy Cross, and Covington Catholic.

 

The ruling is very unclear, but I am aware that each district has their own standards when it comes to seeding. My understanding is that the tiebreaker in the 35th is either a coin flip, or it's determined by runs allowed in seed games.

 

If the tiebreaker were determined by Runs allowed in , then another tie would be created between Holy Cross and Beechwood, who have each given up nine runs total in their seed games. Not sure how that would be broken, but head-to-head, Beechwood holds a 4-3 edge over HC.
