North Laurel 2013

Featured Replies

What does North Laurel need to do to improve in 2013? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

This will be their best team to date. One of the favorites to win the district.

Just noticed North Laurel had posted an open date. I know one of the dates matches up with Leslie County. Hopefully they'll be able to work something out.

From those I've spoke with, North Laurel should be a run-heavy, smash-mouth team whose capable of doing some things. I don't think it would be unfair to say that they are considered to be the better of the two Laurel County teams (South Laurel is a spread passing, finesse type team who was winless last year). Whether or not they are able to win the district certainly remains to be seen, but it's no secret that Coach Larkey is building a nice program in London.

I think you're right Joker. I believe North Laurel and Madison Southern will be the two favorites in this district, but Pulaski is always solid, Lincoln will be tough, and I think Southwestern will have a bounce-back year.

Have to disagree...Pulaski Co has to be fav..return almost every one. Sw still will be down, no QB as he left. NL and MS will fight for 2nd IMO.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'd put Pulaski on equal footing with North and Southern. Either way, should be a good district race.

Should be but PC is my pick. NL has no passing game and struggles to stop decent passing teams (same weakness as HC and RC) and MS has to replace alot, including QB, WR and a few OL and DL.

Why does North have no passing game, is there a reason for that?

It's not like it is earth shattering news MR. I'll restate by saying its been ineffective in past years and for most of all Larkey teams. Not like I'm making it up. No offense meant just is what it is.

I think it is the same for both Larkey's.

Just to re-iterate, I didn't necessarily say I had picked North Laurel to be anything other than the best of the Laurel County schools and a team that would have a chance at contending for their district.

I do think Madison Southern with Damien Harris and Quarterback play that may surprise some folks will be quite the formidable opposition for their district foes. I don't know much about the Pulaski County schools, so it'd be unfair for me to comment on them much past that. I do feel comfortable enough repeating what I've heard others say about North Laurel in general given their record from last season.

Joker, South won a game last year and from what I've been told, they are now more of a Wing-T team with the new coach.

I'm not sure if this is the program's best team ever. Need to see how the season turns out first. The 94 team won the program's first and only district title. This year's team has lots of talent.

Must have overlooked that one. Thanks for the correction and update.
