If so can someone post the games, along with dates, sites and starting times?

 

I think I am going to make it a get away weekend for myself.

I know Belfry plays Somerset, and Pike Central plays Henry Clay on Friday at Belfry. Pikeville plays Hazard on Saturday. I don't know about the other 3 games.

So are all six Pike County schools playing non-county schools? In the past, Pike Central, Phelps, East Ridge, and Shelby Valley have all played against each other, correct?

As I understand it, all 6 are playing non-county schools.

 

I have heard Betsy Lane vs Phelps and Shelby Valley vs Paris, but I can't say that is for certain.

 

I assume that will put East Ridge vs ???? on the same night as Pikeville @ Pikeville.

I thought I read and or heard the powers to be were talking about making this a three day event?

I remember Paris playing and beating Shelby Valley 66-0 or something in that neighbor but do not remember the year or where I watched this one at, but I was there. LOL.

The Belfry vs. Somerset Game should be a Super Game to Watch. Both Teams will be loaded, again and it should be fun to watch.

Belfry returns a lot of skill guys, but will be very young up front. They lost 3 all staters on the line and perhaps the best group of linebackers to play together in school history (Ghormley, Mullins and Messer).

 

The Pirates typically start slow, even when they are experienced. With all those new faces in the trenches I wouldn't expect them to be too sharp in August. The Briar Jumpers should be the favorite in that one.

 

That said, I always love to see Belfry/Somerset matching up. It is always a hard hitting affair and both teams play to the final whistle. Should be a really fun night on Pond Creek.

Somerset return a lot of skilled people also. Have to replace a lot on Off. Line. They also lost a lot on Def. in Slaughter, Williams and Margargle. I think Somerset and Belfry will be a Great High School Football Game.
