ZAP, I was just giving scores for people at home, these weren't pansy teams down here...they hit, they pitched, they were pretty damn good teams down here heading towards the end of their season. I'll mention again this was our second week on a field when the temperature wasn't 30 degrees. If you are in midseason form, then congrats to ya.

Layfette game up 13 runs against Bishop Kennedy, and Layfette is in the top 25, around 15 or 16 if I'm correct. Just a different level of play down there in Gator Country!!:isurrender:

Considering that the teams from Florida have a HUGE advantage that teams in KY don't have, being able to play almost year round, I would say the 'Stangs had a respectable showing. Plus add in to the fact that Brossart has been on the field a very limited amount so far this season, who's to say they do not do better if they had more time on the field before going down there.

I agree that is an advangate and we have touched on the subject before but there are many different reasons why they are ahead of us in softball. Weather is one, but I would think a lot of their players play other sports also so they may or may not be playing all winter.

I would agree, but they still are afforded an opportunity that we are not. When was the last time you and Maddie shagged fall balls, took grounders, or took BP down at FOPA in Dec. or Jan. :jump:

Ok fine throw out Florida. I also see a 13 vs Simon a 16 vs Knoch and a 9 vs Highlands in losses. All teams dealing with similar weather issues. Hard to win in fast pitch against good teams giving up that many.

Time will tell, but Brossart doesn't appear to be as good this year.

At FOPA maybe never in those months but she does take grounders at least 3 times a week during those months...would I rather it be on dirt, yes sir but you can get a ton of work in a turf or a gym floor...to be honest with you we take grounders on turf more than we do dirt even when it is nice out..when taking grounders its more about your foot work and your approach to the ball more so than how the ball bounces...

 

Again I agree it would be much nicer to be outside but that's just a very small part of it....I will throw this out there....my guess is the best HS teams in Chicago would be about the same if not better than the best teams in FL and the weather there sucks...

I would agree, most can field the ball, but getting it over to 1st with accuracy and in a timely manner.....now that's where practice makes perfect.
