Hollywood Degrees Of Seperation

Great game for road trips. Some folks work on trying to link actor to actor in as few steps as possible...I just usually try to link completely dissimilar actors to each other in any way possible.

HOW TO PLAY:

Who To Link: Harrison Ford and Jack Lemmon.

Harrison Ford was in "The Fugitive" with Tommy Lee Jones.

Tommy Lee Jones was in "Hunted" with Benicio Del Toro.

Benicio Del Toro was in "The Usual Suspects" with Kevin Pollack.

Kevin Pollack was in "Grumpy Old Men with" Jack Lemmon.

Harrison Ford -> Tommy Lee Jones -> Benicio Del Toro -> Kevin Pollack -> Jack Lemmon

Figured some of the movie buffs on BGP might be interested in trying a no-internet-assistance version of this on here.

Anyone want to give a shot at linking Johnny Depp and Ben Stiller?

It's called the 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon.

You can pretty much name any actor and get to a movie that Bacon has been in.

Except I don't necessarily play with Kevin Bacon... The best ones are when you link actors from the 40s, 50s, and 60s to modern actors.

OK. There's got to be a closer one than this, but here goes.

Depp was in Pirates of the Caribbean with Orlando Bloom, who was in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring with Sean Astin, who was in Rudy with Vince Vaughn, who was in Dodgeball with Ben Stiller.

I love this game. Used to play it in between calls when I worked at call center while in college. It's pretty crazy how quickly you can link almost any two actors/actresses.

Depp in Blow with Penelope Cruz, Cruz in Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise, Cruise in Tropic Thunder with Stiller.

I hadn't actually worked through that one when I first suggested it, but that's about what I would have figured. I just sat and thought hard on it for a bit to see if I could get any other shorter routes, and I got:

Depp was in Sleepy Hollow with Christina Ricci, Christina Ricci was in The Addams Family with Angelica Houston, Angelica Houston was in The Royal Tenenbaums with Ben Stiller.

Why don't one of you fine gentlemen pick another two to link together.

Justin Timberlake and Jermey Piven

Timberlake was in Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz, who was in Charlie's Angels with Bill Murray, who was in the Royal Tenenbaums with Gwenyth Paltrow, who was in Iron Man with Jon Favreau, who was in PCU with Jeremy Piven.

... I had to write that one down to keep track of what I was doing.

That works. :thumb:

The way I was thinking was Timberlake in Trouble with the Curve with Amy Adams, who was in Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell, who was in Old School with Jeremy Piven.

^ I had so much trouble figuring out movies that Piven's been in... and I totally blanked on Old School. And I think I've only seen two movies that had Timberlake in them. That was tough.

Let's try this:

Matthew Broderick and Matthew Fox

Except I don't necessarily play with Kevin Bacon...
I didn't know you were Jewish. :idunno:

Matthew Fox was in We Are Marshall with Matthew McCounaghey, Matthew McCounaghey was in A Time To Kill with Kevin Spacey, Kevin Spacey was in LA Confidential with Russell Crowe, Russell Crowe was in Cinderella Man with Paul Giamatti, Paul Giamatti was in Man On The Moon with Jim Carrey, and Jim Carrey was in The Cable Guy with Matthew Broderick.

(My head hurts after that one.)
