Will Josh Boston be the next head coach at Henderson County?

Josh Boston will be the next head coach. You heard it here first. They have dragged this on too much and this is to his advantage when they do this.

Chuck Smith turned down the position late last week. There were a couple of issues involved, family concerns, and something about a large amount of accumulated sick days from his years of service that he stood to lose. Have no idea how that works in the education system. Bottom line is, Smith turned it down and HC was left scrambling. It was a no brainer and there was no one that stood out as choice #2.

If the list i was given is accurate then that leaves Josh Boston,Bob Sphire, John Edge, Coach Saunderson and Billy Martin. I heard Billy Martin had an interview Sunday afternoon.

They should go with Billy Martin. He is an experienced Head Coach that is a winner. He was won everywhere he has been. He is also a Henderson Alumni.

I heard from a reliable source that they had reached out to other people over the weekend looking for more candidates. They weren't pleased with what was left after Coach Smith turned them down.

I have also heard this. Is that legal?

So does this mean no coach Boston and no coach Martin. There is one name I wish would pop up not going to say it on here but it hasn't been mentioned yet.

It is legal. Why would it not? They interviewed and maybe didnt like what was left. I will admit Sphire is interesting because I think he has been coaching in Georgia or Alabama.

I posted this in the first Hendo thread:

Second interviews after that stud list of candidates they had!?!?!?

The only way this makes sense is if one or more of the candidates turned the job down and Hendo is left scrambling to hire someone they had no intention of hiring at first.

Anyone?

flapper addressed this above and several of you have contacted me privately to say essentially the same thing on Coach Smith declining Hendo's offer.

I hate this for Henderson County, sounds like a cluster.

I have a hard time believing Bob Sphire interviewed. If so, he'd be a slam dunk hire unless he turned them down as well.

Sphire did not interview. I was told it was one of his assistants.

This is crazy. The same thing happen last time. Jay Cobb accepted the job. Next day turned it down.
