Seeing that there are several schools in the Northern Kentucky area looking for new coaches, I was curious to know what the process might be at these schools and others thoughts on what the process should be. I have seen several comments that some coaches will be selected by a committee. Who determines what people are on the committee and who should maybe be considered for placement on these committee's. Interested to hear what everyone has to say about this subject.

I can't speak of any coaching searches in Northern Kentucky, but north of the river I have heard ADs asking a group of coaches, usually 3, they are close to to write names of coaches which should be considered. If names appear on all three lists, they usually interview from that group. I'm sure every AD and school differs in their process, but that is just one way of handling it.

You are involved at Holy Cross correct? How are they going to handle their coaching search?

There seems to be quite a few "experts" on this site that could fill this role.

Sorry JOAT, couldn't resist.

Should be interesting to see how Highlands chooses their new coach. Will they leave it up to Dale or possibly form a committee of former Bluebird legends to narrow down a short list?

If Dale doesn't call on previous successful coaches there for input, big mistake. Why wouldn't you get the opinion of coaches who had success there? Highlands could form one heck of a search committee - Shields, Messmer, Schlarman, etc.
