2013 Sweet 16: Best Ever?

Featured Replies

Aside from that, just my opinion, but the entire weekend missed being on NCAA tourney weekend. I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoyed watching the 1st round games between sessions rather than sitting around and waiting...

I realize my sentiments on a few of these will not be shared by everyone.

Absolutely. That is one of the best parts of the weekend normally.

I didn't get to go this weekend, but I loved watching games in my Dad's room w/ my uncle and quite a few of the 9th region's officials. Interesting to hear their stories and all of the players and games that they've seen.

I think it's because everyone was watching the games versus looking at this years awesome program.

I think it may depend on your definition of "best." It seemed like the games were played at a higher level than some have been in the past. But the tournament didn't have any upsets. There were numerous good players from multiple teams in the field. But I didn't see many players that looked like potential high-major stars or NBA players. So we might be assigning the term "best" to an event in which we are all coming from different angles.

I don't think games have to have upsets to be considered the best.

I always think the way the games are played, how close they are and how many are still in doubt as time is running out is what makes them great.....buzzer beaters or close to it doesn't hurt either.

What many consider to be one of the if not the best College tournament games ever

didn't finish with an upset. UK vs Duke ended with the favorite to win it all that year win. Yet still considered by many as the greatest game.
