From the McDonald's Classic at Jhn Cen - Watson won by pin.

This shot is also from yesterday's McDonald's Classic. I think Stephens' opponent is Hardwick of JC, but it could be Gayheart.

Can anyone list the other state qualifiers by weight class?

This list was provided by a Region 8 Father. I won't name him here, but I appreciate the list very much. My understanding is that the top 4 finishers are qualified to go to the state tournament. The 5th and 6th place finishers are alternates.

Congratulations to all of these wrestlers,

Graybeard

Only error i see is the 103 weight class. Ashlands 103 was Dq'd because of a bite, so letcher centrals 103 moved up to 4th and qualifies for state. This also moved Chris Cory to 5th as an alternate.

Thanks for the correction coach. But, only one mistake in all of that typing is pretty good for an old man. :D It seems that my source was very reliable - I'd give him an A.

Good luck to you and your team at State.

Thank you very much. And yes one mistake isnt to bad. Will you be making the trip?

I am really proud of the Letcher Co. Central team. As a first year team, with NO experience I thought they did a fantastic job and I can not wait until next year. I was always proud to travel and see the huge support our kids received from our fans. It has been a great start to a great tradition.

Coach Spurlock,

Our parents speak highly of your team. They say they have taken them under their wings. That is good to see teams showing great sportsmanship. Good luck to y'all next year.

Thanks CougarMania,

I asked Rex to tell them we appreciate everything they have done for us this year, in case he forgot could you please do the same?

To be a first year program Letcher Central did an outstanding job, and i only see them getting much better in the future. They have a great coach, great talent, and great support. Definatley all the key ingrediants to a sucessful program.

Other than my 125 and 189 Perry Central will also be in a new stage next year. I plan on doing some heavy recruiting at the grade school level, as well as incomming freshman to try to get to the kids before they fall into the spotlight trap of wanting to play basketball. ( Not an easy task at PCC). SO hopefully when it comes time to roll the mats out next year PCC will fill a full squad for the first time, and with some hard work and commitment from everyone involved turn PCC into a great program who can compete with anyone in the state.
