atticus7 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Booooo. Sounds like it was a good game. I was in Estill after returning from the dentist in Richmond...would like to have watched my bobcats.
All State Baseball Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 It was. Lee has nothing to hang their heads, they played a good game. I wish nothing but the best for the Lee County seniors, they're good ball players and will make some good college players. I wish Coach Wright the best in whatever he decides to do at the end of the season. Estill wasn't at full strength, had several players out.
atticus7 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I hear he is retiring...do you know anything about that?
2-3-Zone Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Is it just me or does John Bentley do an excellent job during this time of year? I know EC was playing at home, but I believe most thought Lee Co would win this but Estill seems to play well in the postseason under Bentley. I believe they have made the regional tournament under him every season.
2-3-Zone Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I hear he is retiring...do you know anything about that? I could understand that but he is young. I believe Coach Wright has a lot of coaching left in the tank. I hate to see him step down.
atticus7 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I could understand that but he is young. I believe Coach Wright has a lot of coaching left in the tank. I hate to see him step down. He is an athlete himself. I would really like to see Estill go to the state now that Lee and Owsley are done(they are out right???)...have been a fan since the Blake Christopher days...what an ambassador he was!!!!
All State Baseball Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I heard that he wanted to spend more time with his family. These rumors about Coach Wright come up every year and they always end up being just that, rumors, so who knows. They did honor him at their last home game and something was mentioned about it from what I heard. As for the game, Estill had several players out, Trevor Jenkins (twin brother of Trenton Jenkins), Chase Alexander (6'8 kid), Trevor Jones and Josiah Muncie who both had torn their ACL's, those shoes are tough to replace. Estill didn't hit a single 3 or an and1 This will be my first trip ever to Letcher County Central. Can't wait!!
The Professor Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Enjoy yourself at the region All State. Letcher Central has a beautiful new school and gym. From Irvine its probably about a 125 mile trip. Its slightly over 90 miles from Booneville but we travel a different route than what you will, that is until we get to Jackson on route 15.
